It took almost 60 years for another Mets pitcher named Nolan to burst onto the scene with a blazing fastball that could overwhelm batters. This Nolan however, has a devastating curve and command and maturity that has resulted in 3 wins in his first 3 starts, something no Met, not even one named George Thomas or Dwight achieved.
It's crazy that this kid has arrived at a time the Mets needed some stability in their starting rotation in order to make a serious stretch run.
