New York Mets-2018

As for TDA, how many better catching options are there without trading significant assets?
Article last night said 20 million but closing deal contingent on mets getting more
I read it was a done deal with the $20mm number
I'm using mlb at bat app for info
They are probably slower to report rumours

The Mets-Mariners deal, as @JonHeyman and @Joelsherman1 first reported, is done, pending physicals. The final deal is Edwin Díaz, Robinson Canó and $20 million for Jarred Kelenic, Justin Dunn, Jay Bruce, Anthony Swarzak and Gerson Bautista. Should be announced officially Monday.

Full deal is Diaz, Cano and $20M to #Mets for Bruce, Swarzak, Kelenic, Dunn and Bautista. Mets will pay Cano 5 yrs $63M once subtract how much owe Bruce/Swarzak plus $20M

I hate this deal. It is physically impossible for Cano to be playing well in 4 years, let alone 5 at 36 and using steroids for who knows how long. The oldest player in the NL was 39 last year and he was a pitcher. Baseball is becoming a young man's game and will stay that way until they allow T-therapy.

Kelenic has a high floor and almost no ceiling. I love Gimenez, but why not include him since we have no place for him with Rosario, McNeil and now Cano?

Brodiie has put us in win-now mode so he better finish this with Harper and some bullpen help.

In those terms its not bad and with their staff and fuse on free agency a win now proposition

Grandal, Ramos perhaps a wooden board would do! :)

I’ve lived through a lifetime of tomorrow’s, they never come to fruition. I don’t care about the Wilpon’s money, I
just want to win now. Tomorrow never comes with the Met’s.

Trading Syndegaard to the Yankees would not go over well with us Met fans if he is their missing piece to win the World Series.

If it's for Realmuto AND Andujar then it could maybe make sense. If it's just Realmuto then no way.

Realmuto has to be the most overrated player in baseball. He's really not that much better than d'Arnaud offensively. He's good but not great defensively. This isn't Buster Posey on his prime.

Sure! Just substitute DeGrom.

Also, if Andujar is included he will go to the Marlins, not the Mets.

Syndergaard To the Yanks for Ellsbury. He rested and ready to go.

Woke up early and just saw the Mets signed
Jeurys Familia for 3 years/30 million. Not sure what to make of this move.

It basically turned the last trade to Díaz, Cano and Familia since they are using the saved money for familia. It certainly blusters the bullpen. Still need a catcher upgrade.
