New Graphic Identity and Brand Story

Worst thread ever..

Are you surprised?
I am surprised he gets this many chances.

Well he acknowledged and played off of the fact he's been banned countless times. It's not for lack of trying on the administration's part.

At a certain point you just kind of throw your arms up in the air.

So you'd welcome Scotch back? I'll have to send him a PM.

I think he's back already
Me thinks he could be the poster " Mr Glass "

Bingo! I'm waiting for the large fonts in different colors as he tells us about who he ran into on campus.

Speaking of Scotch, I was driving from work and I saw Mase today. He looks like he put on some size. Looks much stronger. Sporting a mohawk ala DLo and Felix.

Well not on campus but is the deli next to campus close enough ? Scotch much tamer now. I always appreciated his enthusiasm

"btw - saw Felix Balamou about a week or two ago coming out of double j's as I was going in... looks to be a solid 6'4- 6'5 and told me he's been hitting the weights... don't sleep on this dude, imo, he might be the best "swingman" on the team... nice kid too... although his Mohawk could use a little work!..lol"

He really is incapable of "not" using quotation marks. It's kind "of' scary.

It's amazing how much someone's personality is displayed---and is near impossible to mask---while typing generic letters on a keyboard. Old Red, Joe3, etc. all try to comeback under a new name but are immediately identified.

The others answered your question. But also its not my playground. I just play in the sandbox like the rest of us.

Didn't mean to imply it was your call or responsibility. Just wanted your opinion. Re Mr. Glass, didn't pick up on that so I'll withhold judgement unless and until he sends me a threatening PM in the middle of the night while on a bender.

To answer the Orangemen question, at least in part, SU decided to drop it because it was related to Syracuse's connection to the Onadoga Indians who occupied that area and had "Orange" skin; really Native Americans are neither Orange nor Red.

SU quietly dropped the Orangemen for the same reasons other schools changed names. SJU was not the only school to do so. And if it was OK with Looie it is ok with me. I think Joe Lapchick would have approved of the change, even despite the fact, that the NYTimes nicknamed our football team Red Men because of our red uniforms.

People can be "offended" by anything these days. Sad times for our country.

This is the first time I've read that dropping the Orangemen nickname has to due to the "orange" skin color of the Onadoga tribe, and, quite frankly, I'm having a hard time believing it. As I remember it, the tribe objected to the caricature portrayal of the Saltine Warrior, Syracuse's Indian mascot, and not the name Orangemen. The school's explanation for going with Orange was that, with the rise of women's sports programs, it was better to remove the gender from the name rather than have the male Orangemen and the clumsy-sounding female Orangewomen. (If any group had grounds for feeling uncomfortable about the name Orangemen -- which like our Redmen, had to do with the school's chosen color -- it would be Irish Catholics, especially during "the Troubles" in Norther Ireland, which lasted from the 1960s through the 1990s, when the Prostestant Orangemen were the enemy and which is still a sensitive issue. ... Ooops, there's that "sensitive" word. And it's possible this came into account when the name change was implemented.)

Breaking news, Georgetown changes name from Hoyas to "Puppies" due to an incident where a 4th grader called another student a "Hoya" and stuck his tongue out in derogatory fashion. The term was deemed offensive. Seriously though, there was a female UConn student who claimed the new Husky logo "encouraged rape". It's at the point where you can't even make this stuff up anymore.

Joe, you paint with a very, very, very broad brush. To equate a coed's supposed charge that the Husky logo "encouraged rape," not to mention your unfunny Hoyas/Puppies comment, with centuries of U.S. government-sponsored genocide against Native Americans (which included trading small-pox-infected blankets to freezing tribes for the land granted to them from previously broken treaties) is not only absurd, it's flat-out stupid. Then again, we've already read and commented on your offensive "time for these people to get over it" rant. Please, we've begged you before: do everyone a favor and put this rest.

Do you look in the mirror and hate yourself for your white skin? I mean seriously. Put it to rest? You should heed your own advice and get over things that happened in America in the 17 and 1800's while your family was in Europe. If not now, then when can we? I have said before, remember always but move on. I don't think that's unreasonable. You strike me as someone so easily offended that you would be on the UConn student's side regarding the husky logo story. By the way, it's amazing how you seem to focus on only 1 race's dirty laundry from the 18th and 19th centuries while pretending everyone else was a cupid-like cherub singing kumbaya. Pretty sure the entire world was a complete mess in those days, not just America. It's ok to be who you are. You have nothing to apologize for. I'll end here though because I don't want you to miss your Justice for Trayvon rally so you can prove how non-racist you are. P.S. he brought the subject back to this, not me.

1. I assure you I'm very comfortable in my own skin.
2. I don't take the UConn student's side regarding the Huskies logo; and the fact that you equate taking her side with acknowledging how this country has mistreated Native Americans is indicative of your strange take on things, not mine. I see no connection whatsoever.
3. I'm not "apologizing" for the genocidal mistreatment of Native Indians by European Americans; I'm simply recognizing it.
4. That's it; no more on this subject. Again, this board is about our shared love of St. John's basketball, not about racial and gender insecurities, which you continue to raise.

Joe, i sincerely hope you are currently interning somewhere with a company that likes you, because your inability to stfu is going to bite you in the ass during any interview process. You go on and on and on, and literally everything that comes out of your mouth is total shit.
