nd game

Gutty win when I thought we were going to get killed.

Maybe a little karma going in 114 with Paultzman&son,Brian,Ralph&friends Gman&Kira Sayjack and Kranmars and myself.

Just got home from the game. Great win. We outworked them. I had thought they had turned a corner with Cincy. I think they turned a corner tonight. This could be a Final Four team in two years if they stay together and keep working as hard as they did tonight. These guys are fun to watch when they play like this.
On another note, was the officiating as bad as I thought tonight?

The odd thing is, Cooley only had 3 fouls. That's being "in" foul trouble for sure, but down the stretch what the hell was Brey thinking? Last 3 or 4 mins he's got be in the game.

I agree with this. I'm too lazy to look for any Brey post game presser quotes, but if he was trying to prove some kind of a point to Cooley by sitting him down the stretch...um....thanks, I guess.

Officiating was fine.
Karl Hess behaved.

You were at the game so you wouldn't heard this, but Bob Knight said it was the best officiated game he's seen this season.

I wasn't. Heard same thing. Knight waxed poetic about the crew all night

Haha, my bad; guess I shouldn't assume.

What are your thoughts of him as the analyst on our games? I've been saying how much he's grown on me.

Replied in Jungle thread where you mentioned it. He's good. He knows the game. He can talk strategy and such. I just don't think he has a clue who the players are. Many references to 'the big guy on STJ' tonight. He also slips up on some of the rules a bit. He's a coaching legend and you will learn more from him than most of the other blowhards

i worked late tonight and recorded the game and avoided any sports reports and redmen.com until i had a chance to sit and watch the game.....i have a huge headache from the stress but it was worth it!.....a few things i loved:

1) 80% free throw shooting
2) we won with d'lo only scoring 8 points.....we may end up more than a one-trick pony!
3) much better ball movement on offense....not a lot of the weave
4) defensive intensity was great....especially in the 2nd half....even on possessions where ND would score it felt like they were working hard for each basket....

one thing i didn't like which has been mentioned before....the "prevent offense" when we have a big lead....when we were up 12 i had knots in my stomach.....so glad they weathered the ND run and pulled out the win.....

congrats guys!!!

great win but lets not get to happy would not suprise me one bit if they throw up a stinker against depaul.

Exactly what I was thinking while reading all of these happy posters, I mean after the win @ Cincy what happened? 2 straight losses is what happened. I want to see another game like this one @ DePaul before I start to get all excited.

Enjoy this win. It was a hard played game, and a message to the faithful fans that have wavered a little (*Moose) that if you give up on these guys, you are going to miss some gems. We are a young team, an incomplete team, and we will still have rough spots and bad games. There will also be games like this, that are simply to be enjoyed, and the last minutes of last night's game were exciting, gritty, loud, and well played.

Is this an NCAA caliber team? Most likely, not this year - but there are some very nice parts.

Is this an NIT team? Probably, but even if we fall short, I won't be too disappointed. There are enough bright spots to look forward to next season

As a downer, our interior defense was pretty bad last night, giving up far too many easy uncontested layups. On the positive sign, our defense stiffened just enough in the last few minutes.

Calling me out Joe3 style? I'm honored.......I guess.
