That is as poor a loss as I have seen in a long time. Just a methodical carving up in the 2nd hall with no resistance from Providence at all. One BE team that showed no toughness at all.

just amazing how they could dominate for 10 minutes and then come out in the 2nd half and let USC walk all over them. I feel bad for my providence friends because this one would keep me up at night
 
Lost with a 17 point lead. Providence played maybe worst half of basketball I've seen in a while. Choke job big time. No bueno../

Me too, I'm not a Providence fan and it bothers me, looked like the players wanted no part of being there.

The PG, Cartwright, played 3 lousy halves of basketball (out of the last 4).

I realize that Ed Cooley wants to ride with who got him there, but Cartwright was so out of control in the second half (and in the Big East Tournament last week) that at some point, you have to pull him, even if it's only for a couple of minutes to show him who's boss.
 
On the one hand, I always pull for our conference as I do think winning helps all the programs long term, but I really don't like Ed Cooley and we do compete with them for recruits. Anyone watching that mess last night has to question that coaching job.
 
Conference may have tough tourney. The Creighton PG injury obviously hurt a potential elite eight or even final four squad. I also think Nova could get knocked off if paired with Wisconsin. Love the BE, but just have feeling we have a tough go of it this year. Hope I am wrong.
 
They were lucky to go on that run. I loved the effort but they were overplaying everything and USC did some things to counter which worked with the only exception of the ball going into the hoop. Then as I predicted they ran out of gas in the second.

i really expect CU to go down to Rhode Island. I think URI should almost be favored. On the other hand i think Xavier got a lucky draw, I don't think Maryland is a very good team. Butler got a pretty decent draw as well. Will be an interesting tournament

I was thinking of Tariq watching him. Not a lot of meat but his length bothered Prov. and he could finish. In the 1st Friars were a lot more athletic and aggressive but they just didn't have as much steam. The way USC moved the defense in the first IMHO is what I wanted to see from our guys this past season where we could tire out bigger athletic teams and finish them off at the end of a game.
 
Awful, awful job by Providence last night blowing that lead. I was pulling for them hard, as I do all the Big East teams come tournament time.

I have Nova, Xavier, Marquette, Butler and Seton Hall all moving on to the second round.

I have Nova, Xavier and Butler in the Sweet 16 and I have Nova going the farthest, getting knocked out in the Elite 8 by Duke.

Not sure about Wisconsin. I usually view them as a dangerous team in the Tournament. However, I watched some Big Ten this year and was not overly impressed. On top of that (not that it means too much) they didn't win the conference tournament. I don't think they can hang with Nova. I guess that's why they play the games.

I think people are gravitating towards picking that upset because Wisconsin should not be an 8 seed. They deserved a 5 or 6. But i agree, Nova will prevail

Jack I agree. I would add that many are thinking of Wisconsin teams past and the style of play. I don't think that team is this team. Talent is not the same. We'll see. I am looking forward to the games.
