NCAA Tourney Thread

Mind boggling that a program with ten years of academic fraud will win the national title. Shame on the NCAA.

What a strange game. North Carolina 4-27 from three and still won. Berry made all four.

I just had one of my best friends go nuts about his team, unc winning and bashing St. John's relentlessly during his tirade. Can we please get some luck on our side and get some bigs that have hands, and can finish so they can compliment our guards! I just watched a team take terrible shot after terrible shot and win the national championship. The Cubs had nothing on us, nothing! #1timeformylifetime

Expected a much better game after watching the semis. This was like a ho hum December game not for a Natty. ANTICLIMACTIC

Just got back from the game. can't believe unc won the national championship. Most neutral fans were rooting for the zags. Felt as though gonzaga lost it more than NC won it....

Turned the game off at halftime and sounds like it was the right move. No regrets. Got some extra sleep and no aggravation. The game is broken and someone needs to wake up and do something about it.

This was a terribly played and most importantly a horrendously officiated game. Too many whistles and not enough play on. Poor free throw shooting on both sides. UNC could barely hit a 3 and they won the game. I think the one and done and many other factors are hurting college basketball and its beginning to show.

Stats UNC 3point 4 for 27 and FT 15-26  AND they WON the GAME!!!

It was a terrible game but Gonzaga lost it on turnovers. They gave North Carolina a few runouts for dunks or layups and that was the difference. I thought there were a number of fun games to watch. It was a shame this was the Finals.

LMAO at the ESPN talking heads claiming that NC won this with great defense. What game were they watching? Gonzaga was missing wide open shots and Karnowsky looked pathetic. Let's see....what conference does ESPN have a huge contract with? Oh yeah....that would be the ACC.

The shooting in this game was not vintage Nova in '85 or Bill Walton's 22 for 23.

turned it off at halftime and like Moose, turned out to be a good move by me.

After watching this year's tournament I come away with the opinion that SJU is not as far away from respectability as we might think and the Big East is a lot better than I thought all year. When the tournament started I felt that Xavier didn't deserve a bid and yet certainly without their injuries they could have competed in last nights game.
Both finalists had good but not great players. Maybe one or two make pro rosters but most are D league talents. I'll guess that SJU finished somewhere in the mid 100 range as far as team rankings go but the gap between NC and number 150 I don't think is that great. We heard all year what a talented college draft this year will be but who are these players. It seemed to me the top teams were all overrated.
If SJU can get a couple of eligible bigs for next season they won't be a final four team but they will surprise us.

Could not agree more. Did not consciously turn the game off but fell asleep about 3/4 of the way through the first half. Refereeing is just horrible and the game has lost its flow completely. Plenty of mindless dribbling, not much ball movement. IMO, AAU and basketball factories disguised as schools ruining the game. Along with the long term effects of the David Stern marketing strategy of the player over the team. That has already made the NBA unwatchable for me.

May we all one day be blessed with complainants from fansites across the country saying how SJU won one of the ugliest NCAA title games in history.
