NCAA Tournament Thread

This thinking is relevant to our future success imo.

@cdortch: Great quote from Dayton coach Arch Miller: "They’ve got no baggage, no worries about the NBA or who’s going to score what. They just play."

Like Norm's teams

Except Archie Miller, like his father & and brother are excellent, well schooled coaches. Big difference. Why get so defensive? This was not a comment about Lavin, but a statement regarding the benefit of having team oriented, tough players with a singular purpose, winning together. A four year kid, like Scoochie, could play on my team any day. Having a blend of three & four year kids who play hard & can shoot to me is essential going forward. Sprinkle in occasional five star kid & I think that is the right formula.

It was a joke. I wasn't being defensive. I actually think the Millers are excellent coaches. I didn't even think about Lavin when I posted. I do think, however, that the description sounds like the 2010 team.

Fair enough, sorry.

After watching the tournament so far, it's a damn shame we couldn't sneak in. This is one of the most wide open tournaments I've watched, and none of the top seeds are as dominant as years past.

If SJ cant smoke Philip Morris,a team with 6-7 players and no inside game, then how can you win a first round game...Wisc would have beat SJ like a drum, just like they did to Amer U..........B.E. will be even harder next yr..MARQ is trying get Ben Howland.

And down go the Jayhawks! Wow, what a tournament!!

I picked that one but had New Mexico not Stanford beating them. I didn't like them without their center. Something never felt right with them being the #1 in the rpi.

Villanova looking like crap.

When you live by the 3 you can die by the 3. PInkston didn't help. Nova totally outhustled. See what happens when a team believes in its self, including their coach. Doesn't hurt to have a Napier though. Looks like some coach recruited shooters. Are you listening Lavin?

Nova had no depth on the front line and when Pnkston decides he's a perimeter player, the only thing theynhave is Ochefu put backs. Odd thing is Uconn also has a weak fron line other than Daniels (Philip Nolan? C'mon!). Problem is they were also outplayed on the perimeter. (Caveat: I had to go out and missed the last 10 minutes.)

Wich St. has to be loving this

Louisville will probably pull it out. Pitino will rip them a new one and they will come out on fire in their next game. Wichita St. Should pray that St. Louis wins.

You guys are writing off Kentucky?

well this is a team that was penned in at the beginning of the season as national champs. is there any more disappointing team for the 2013-14 season? So talent wise they should definitely beat Wich St. but they haven't really brought it so yeah I wrote them off. but they will definitely win the NBA draft.

Still a min left but you and paultz wrote them off too easily. I picked wsu but Kentucky has a lot of talent.

Watching WS and Kentucky game and I have to come to this conclusions, we are not in the same stratosphere as these teams!

@ToddFuhrman: Very surprised to see @WynnLasVegas open Louisville -5.5 against Kentucky for the Blue Grass showdown in the Sweet 16.

we should have hired Cal. Thanks Father Harrington

Look at Cal's salary, and tell me if he would be here today? You jump upwards, not backwards.

Would never happened for several reasons including that one.

UNC and Iowa St., another great game and finish.

March Madness is FaNTASTIC.
