NCAA Tournament Thread

Harvard starting to battle MSU. Don't think they will win but they are playing great in the second half.

Villanova looking like crap.
But that's Otis' benchmark team. The great Jay Wright. UCONN wanted the Garden way more. UCONN fans will storm the Garden next week.
You can be sure about that. They will beat a lackluster North Carolina team provided they get there which they probably will.

What would the perception of the Big East be right now if we included Dayton, St. Louis, and Wichita State like advocated forest year?

Wichita State may not have to high ceiling but they don't okay football and they draw like crazy.

ACC killing it...LOL

Go Nova. Future conference member Dayton takes it right to Upstate New York's team. :)
will we really add Dayton?

Zero plans to add anyone at this time.

It'll be a few years, but I have to imagine Dayton will be right there with St. Louis in terms of consideration. Would like to see us not fear VCU's size and have Memphis drop football, however.

I see. Thanks for the insight guys. Hopefully we do add some strong programs.

I also heard Dayton was St. John's choice when it came down between Creighton and someone else. So Dayton was in that first pack of teams under consideration.

This thinking is relevant to our future success imo.

@cdortch: Great quote from Dayton coach Arch Miller: "They’ve got no baggage, no worries about the NBA or who’s going to score what. They just play."

The only Norm I liked was on Cheers.

I felt that Nova was overated thru out the entire year! In my opinion, they were not a legitimate 2 seed. Having said that they did win some outer conference games early on against some good teams. Lets see if the Jays can win a cuple of more!

Except Archie Miller, like his father & and brother are excellent, well schooled coaches. Big difference. Why get so defensive? This was not a comment about Lavin, but a statement regarding the benefit of having team oriented, tough players with a singular purpose, winning together. A four year kid, like Scoochie, could play on my team any day. Having a blend of three & four year kids who play hard & can shoot to me is essential going forward. Sprinkle in occasional five star kid & I think that is the right formula.

@GaryParrishCBS: Wichita opened as a 3.5-point favorite; it’s now up to 5. Is that b/c of Andrew Harrison’s injury? Or do gamblers just believe in WSU?

@NJHoopsHaven: The last time the Big East didn't advance a team to the Sweet 16 was 1993. Lot of weight on Creighton's shoulders Sunday.

It was easier when you had 16 teams and 7 in the tourney but look at the ACC, the least best conference in America with 15 teams this year! We will have quality teams top to bottom in a couple of years and I hope we will always get to the sweet 16 and beyond. Lavin needs to step up big time to improve recuiting because Fox expects us to be the anchor in NYC and not the anchor weighing down the rest of the conference. Personally, no extension until he signs some players in the fall to prove his worth in the area we hired him for.

It was a joke. I wasn't being defensive. I actually think the Millers are excellent coaches. I didn't even think about Lavin when I posted. I do think, however, that the description sounds like the 2010 team.
