NCAA Tournament 2022

UNC’s Leaky Black may have the coolest name in college basketball.

Great fun rooting (and betting) this last week on Peacocks. Can't remember a better underdog run in the NCAAs.
Feather Dusters? I think not !

Some years, like the year the Big East sent 11, or the year the ACC sent 9, sees a conference that is so tough, that their teams have nothing left, physically for the tournament.  It was just a war every night in that league this year, but it takes it's toll.

Almost too tough, you might say.

The good teams power through that. It’s as much mental as it is physical.

St. Peter’s can lose by 30 tonight and they still will be the story of the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
I’d prefer they lose by less than 13 for personal reasons  :)
mjmaherjr wallet very happy for personal reasons. My butcher gonna owe me a lot of food tomorrow but drinks are on Jersey John ( old time 114 guy who is huge St Peters fan )

Zach Eady looks pissed not getting any burn the last 10 minutes. He should transfer to SJU!

He certainly did not look like his season stats. I thought he was soft and unathletic. Best thing about him tonight was his mom.

A former poster here, John Mattera, a friend of a number of guys on RM  shared a photo of the night he helped coordinate Doug Edert’s home visit with St Peter’s Coach Holloway. He committed later and the rest is history, good for John & Doug and Peacocks!

they couldn’t use a shooter like him?

I could only imagine the reaction of this board if St. John's had recruited a kid ranked this low. It's not like he was a star in his own mid major conference this season.

I can only speak for myself 112, but I have no problem taking a flyer on a low ranked local kid who may develop over time. Especially a kid with a specific skill set. IE sharpshooter, low post banger, shot blocker, etc. What I have a problem with are the expectations being placed on these kids by many of our fan base. Case in point; talk of Pinzon, Stanley and others making huge leaps next season, and King being ready to contribute significant minutes. All lower ranked kids who may need some time to develop. In King's case, we don't even know yet if he's a Big East level talent. And we won't know till he gets here. My problem is not with recruiting lower ranked kids, it's with our lack of recruiting higher ranked kids.

St Peter’s made their free throws down the stretch of the game and have throughout their run . Villanova is the best Free Throw shooting team in NCAA history .   And , we wonder why we lose so many close games ?    If you can’t shoot 70 percent as a team or better , you probably don’t have the right players .  Or , your Coaching staff needs overhaul .

Creighton has one of the worst free throw shooting team's in the country, Should they fire their McDermott or their other coaches? Sometimes players are not good/clutch  foul shooters, coach gets blamed for every weakness.
