Great fun rooting (and betting) this last week on Peacocks. Can't remember a better underdog run in the NCAAs.
Feather Dusters? I think not !

St Peter’s made their free throws down the stretch of the game and have throughout their run . Villanova is the best Free Throw shooting team in NCAA history .   And , we wonder why we lose so many close games ?    If you can’t shoot 70 percent as a team or better , you probably don’t have the right players .  Or , your Coaching staff needs overhaul .

Creighton has one of the worst free throw shooting team's in the country, Should they fire their McDermott or their other coaches? Sometimes players are not good/clutch  foul shooters, coach gets blamed for every weakness.
Don’t know where you got your info. The stats I saw show Creightonat 72.9  free throw shooting for the Season .  That’s the Team percent and includes the subs who never get to play and are listed as Zero percent .

UNC’s Leaky Black may have the coolest name in college basketball.
Personally, I like Remy Martin from Kansas for my all name team.
definitely makes my all alcohol team name . I wish there was a family named Weiser who named their kid Bud

are there any last names in that directory with the name Cohol  ? Because if they named their son Al and he plays hoops he can be captain of my all alcohol name team

Hearing a lot about St Peters defense and foul shooting but their offensive sets were unbelievable. I found myself watching what they do off the ball. It’s as good as I’ve ever seen.

5 guys moving at once and always at the right time.  And nobody half asses it.  Always quick. It’s incredible.

That reminds me of the prank pulled on Ed Coleman at the time the host of the Mets pre game show. They set him up by telling him to announce that the winner of that days call in contest winner was Al Coholic from wherever and he kept repeating the name not realizing it was a tweak at him for his his rep as quite a drinker.

Some years, like the year the Big East sent 11, or the year the ACC sent 9, sees a conference that is so tough, that their teams have nothing left, physically for the tournament.  It was just a war every night in that league this year, but it takes it's toll.

Almost too tough, you might say.

Some years with some conferences that's kinda true.  But EVERY year the B1G is overrated, sometimes less than others but always overrated.

St. Pete’s is a great story. Watched them play a number of times during the season. But, they are at top of their game right now. Talent disparity aside, they have flummoxed 3 very good teams by focusing on many of same things that teams like Nova and Kansas do - making opponents feel uncomfortable thru intense defense, non-stop movement on offense and ability to hit free throws.

They would probably lose the next 9 times they played each of the teams they beat - but they certainly got their attention and earned their respect.

Couple of notes….

As much as I’m not a fan of N Carolina basketball, Kudos to Hubert Davis whose team improved significantly over the course of the season.

Looks like Arkansas’s to change. In coaches a few years ago has paid off big time.

If St. Peter’s can beat Carolina, to get to the Final Four, their feat would be a close second to the miracle on ice in the 80 Winter games.

And nearly as satisfying.

Jay Wright is the best coach in college basketball. This is not one of his most talented teams. He has done a fabulous job to get them this far

Nova up 7 at half gotta he happy with that a grinding game Houston only 20 points

Big East obviously is extremely fortunate to have Nova. Their ability to dictate pace and control a game is so remarkable considering they are not a deep team. Kudos Jay!

Never in the history of college basketball as far as I know has there been a better pump fake/ball fake and swing pass team than this Villanova era. That is a direct reflection of coaching.
