NCAA - Game 1 - San Diego St. (Friday)

It makes it harder to grow a program when the respected voices on the airwaves show so little interest or knowledge of the program. I know NY is a pro town with a lot to talk about but still some serious and knowledgeable discussion on occasion might help. All we need is one or two top city kids a year to commit and being discussed in a positive way on a semi regular basis on WFAN would not hurt.

I too hope WFAN's core audience of white, middle-aged suburbanites can help steer more Gauchos, NJ Playaz and New Heights kids our way.

I understand your point and it is valid, however kids do listen and the more positive discussion anout St. Johns the better.

Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but their best player Winston Shepard is good friends with DLo. They are both from Houston area and played on same AAU team.

And if we got the 6'11 white suburban kid from Monroe, NY that is currently starting for Virginia, we'd be winning the south region. Not to mention, this 6'1 kid from Monroe might be posting on the Syracuse fan site if SJU wasn't on WFAN with positive juice back in the day.

who is the radio host ? is that one of the guys that's in the contest that francesa was talking about today ? His voice doesn't sound familiar to me for some reason

I do agree with Zach though with his idea Mich State will beat virginia but I think Nova will smoke them.

Overall on his bracket picks I think he did a solid job but I don't think Zags are getting to final 4. Let's get Zach in the redmen.com bracket pool. That would be cool

Play tight defense, jump the passing lanes, even if it means giving up a few easy baskets. Play fast on offense. Score off turnovers, driv to the basket. Take the open 3 when available. Limit turnovers on offense. Dom needs to be uber aggressive on both ends of the floor. Force them to defend at the rim. If we score 70, we should win.

That 45-43 game against Wyoming was painful to watch. There was a stretch in the 2nd half where Wyoming went about 10 minutes without making a basket---and they still won.

I am pretty sure that's the Syracuse grad from Staten Island. 2 strikes against him.

Cool just checked in and none of the players were suspended or trampled by elephants. I should log off now so not to jinx it or read that Baldi's "source" claims there will be a secret meeting to discuss putting the basketball team on double secret probation.

He's now reporting that Cardinal Dolan led a parade today to rally against Lavin in Manhattan and he had the entire nyc wear green to protest in unison and that st johns had a contingent marching to show their solidarity. he might be right on this about this parade thing because the alumni group posted a picture of st johns marching today

thanks, and here is how it gives it from the SDSU perspective:

While that guy predicted us to win, I can't take him seriously when he said Dom can step out and hit threes

Jordan Schultz on Bleacher Report giving his opinion on the 5 teams guaranteed to lose in the first round. He has St. John's as one of the guaranteed losers. Not that the team needs more motivation, but they should see his report just in case they want that extra push.
