Yes, but Nova wasn't tired in the BET. Neither was PC or SHU. It only seems to pertain to us is my point. We can win both games...the question is how bad do they want it? Nate Oats routinely motivates Buffalo by telling them if they want to win games they have to take it from the other team. That needs to be our mindset as well.
PC lost and in the last ten minutes the announcers were mentioning how they appeared worn out. Neither Nova or SHU played an extra game so I don't know what they have to do with it. The idea that having to play an extra game is a disadvantage isn't controversial. The key, whether it's the BE tourney or the NCAA tourney is not to put yourself in that position. But that ship has sailed, the team will need to overcome it as it is what it is. Not crying for them, there was plenty of chances during the end of the regular season to make sure this didn't occur - in BOTH tournaments. But it is a handicap.
. And , to think all of this would be a mute point if Mike Stephens and that incompetent crew had gotten the call right in SH game 1! We finish 9-9 and are 3 seed and would not have had to play Marquette in gams 2, 18 hours after DePaul.
“moot”
. I prefer Mute because it would have shut up the entire posts about being a 7 seed as opposed to being a 3 which changes the entire BE Tournament pairings . Otherwise , it becomes a moot point but, thanks for picking nits ...

Late Wednesday night is easily the best time slot for the play in games. Everyone fills out their brackets Wednesday night (or earlier), so we're guaranteed to have our name on the bracket when everyone fills theirs out. Had we got the Tuesday slot and lost, that would've been much less fun.

Season hasn't ended yet though. . .
It seems the only thing protecting us from possibly being the LIFO (last in, first out) is the fact that we are playing Wednesday instead of Tuesday. Go Redmen..
Whoa Bundy.

Color me cautiously optimistic about St. John's chances to make some waves. ASU is almost a mirror image of us. They have one 6'10" guy in the rotation, but he doesn't play a ton of minutes. And if there's one possible explanation for our Johnnies' inconsistency this year, to loosely quote James Carville: "it's the match-ups, stupid." So I think it's a favorable match-up for us, and therefore think we should be victorious.

Looking ahead, Buffalo is a similarly good match-up. Texas Tech lest so...but certainly not the worst match-up for us.

I think the other key to our inconsistency is the guys being motivated. I trust that the excitement and emotion of making the tournament, and the desire to make waves in the tournament, will have the guys flying with their 'A' game.

So basically a combination of motivation and good match-up equals a Johnnies W.

I'm happy it's a play in game. We have a chnace to win, and I don't have to wait until Thursday or Friday to see us play. Also, the last few in are either mid majors or as inconsistent as us. Here's hoping A. State is dysfunctional and throws the ball away all game.

The article says "St. John’s is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015, but the Johnnies do feature two players on the team with March experience: Clark, who played in two tourneys at Michigan State (including a Final Four in 2015), and Mustapha Heron, who made the field while a freshman at Auburn last year."

Was Keita an oversight or has something happened and he is no longer with the team?

Wow, tomjmac once scored 4 touchdowns in a high school championship game just like Al Bundy?

I reckon that's just an oversight. I hadn't heard anything about him leaving the team, and he played in the last game of the BET.

My guess is that he didn't play in an NCAA game
He didn't play much at South Carolina

Just remember you can’t use LIFO if you are a global company. Only FIFO.

I think the time off will really benefit us. Refresh the tank, start new and find the chemistry we have been missing. In my time as a player and coach you often times benefit from taking some time off away from the gym and each other. I am looking forward to a solid performance against ASU. Lets go Redmen!!!!!!

ASU had just about as head scratching a season as we did. I'm not sure we can beat the team that beat Kansas, but I'm positive we can beat the team that lost to Washington State by 21!

Here's the thing about us and ASU, we don't really like defense. This could be a first to 85 deal.

The good news is ASU doesn't defend the 3 and turns the ball over. The bad news is they rebound and get to the line a lot. Like always we will benefit from a loosely called game and an opponent that takes quick shots. So let's how that happens.

I do imagine a world where folks that use mute in this manner were muted.

Yeah, he played 30 minutes in the 5 games. Scored 0 points but grabbed 6 rebounds.
