What would've happened if the Head Coach had listened to his most experienced Assistant Coach who had been a GREAT recruiter for an NCAA CHAMPION & annual Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4 contender, when he wanted to "save some scholarships" for the BIG MEN he was targeting ? Oh yeah, he chose to listen to the "shot gun" recruiter who was offering to everyone & signing a MIS-MATCHED group of recruits in year 1 & 2. Yeah, I know, Samorie Ponds came after this coaches departure. This is all WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN & we'll never really know. Just have to wonder if the HEAD coach had stopped tying his shoes & listened to some experienced advice would there have been some BIGS on this team who made a so called "best starting 5 in Big East" even better. LONG TIME BASKETBALL FOLKS KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I'll leave it to you to fill in he blanks.

You counteract that situation by sitting the offenders for a few minutes, let them get some rest and then bring them back into the game hoping they have regained their touch. If not they sit some more.
However when there is no one on the bench capable of competing you must leave the offenders in the game and hope for the best. This shouldn't be the case in year four.
Bull, we had Williams and Josh on the bench, maybe they wouldn't be ready for the big stage, but could they do any worse then 1-17?
Not for nothing, but it seems like, the less they played, the more popular Williams and Roberts got with the fanbase.
Sort of the case of the unknown being better than the known, sad to say!
