I say we go with your plan and just dump the whole staff now and start from scratch. You convinced me through your hundreds of pessimistic posts.
You don't think it looks bad that we are whiffing on everyone?
To answer that question would not allow him to present his own straw man.
Sorry, didn't mean to intrude on you agenda.
Whiffing on everyone is factual. Acting like this is normal or ok is wrong.

Aka going to SJU games?
It is not the end of the world that we have lost Al Amir Dawes.

The problem is that we are totally irrelevant in the NY/NJ area.
I didn't want to post this because I didn't want to be accused of sour grapes, especially because I've never seen Dawes play. But from what I can gather, he only averaged about 11 ppg last season. Not sure if he blew up over summer or is simply a great passer who never turns ball over, but those stats don't scream freshman starter, and I don't think he starts at Clemson his first year. But from what people say online, he is going to be a solid four-year guy. It would be nice to start landing local guys like that. If we only have one real recruiter, recruiting Cali kids seems like a waste of time and resources. We'll never be able to be there enough in person to really sway a kid.

On 2018 H.S. recruiting:

Regardless of ranking, I think Greg Williams will eventually be counted as a good one. He has very good size (especially for a true freshman guard). He looks strong enough to play this year. We know his reputation on the defensive end and last night he appeared to have speed and a good handle. If he can shoot, we will be very pleasantly surprised. At very least, he's an excellent four year player.

To a lesser extent, I do also like Josh Roberts and Marcellus Earlington. I imagine, just based on his height, Roberts will see the floor this year. But, he is definitely a multi-year project. Marcellus showed surprising touch last night and, for now, should be a good teammate.

My point......2018 HS recruiting wasn't stellar, but it also wasn't a bust.

If Gregg improves his stroke, watch out! Great athlete. He also played at a low level prep program, so this level will have a learning curve, but looks like a great 4 year kid. We need that.

Well, we could designate Mitch as our West Coast recruiter...
Lol.

I don't know about the other two, but Rod looks like he could suit up tomorrow and fit right in.

The irony of this picture is that Kenny and Rod never gave St, John's a second thought. The irony continues as Mullin has been photographed with all the major local 2019 targets this year also. Hopefully one of those local targets changes Mullin's luck with photo ops.

Strickland used to hang around St. John's a lot (More than Mark Jackson who he was backing up for the Knicks) including over on Parsons where they had the off campus apartments for many student athletes.

Thanks for posting - great read!

Sly, respectfully what do you think of the scrimmage result? Of course it's just a scrimmage and I'm willing to give Mullin the entire season obviously, but the early results are a cause for concern. URI is not a top 25 team anymore...if this happened a few years ago it would make more sense, but this is our most talented team in arguably 20 years or so. Some good things happened in the scrimmage, but you just wonder if Mullin has what it takes as coach. Every Mullin critic including myself are looking all over for any scraps that suggest he can turn us around and I truly hope he can this year. Hopefully this scrimmage is not a sign of more of the same.

My goodness Negative Nancy. It’s a scrimmage. Teams experiment. Some are not even 40 minutes long - NOVA and UNC played a 50 minute scrimmage. You practice schemes and plays over winning.
