Mullin as Coach

This was my favorite part of reading that article.

"According to sources familiar with the situation, Mullin already has approached people that he would like to be part of his coaching staff – including Bulls assistant Ed Pinkney, Kentucky assistant Barry Rohrssen and Iowa State assistant Matt Abdelmassih among others"

That would be a "Dream Team" of coaches. No pun intended.

Isaiah has no chance at coming here unless calipari leaves correct? Hopefully Jordan stays because then won't be an issue I'd think.

Or unless Cal lets him out of his LOI, which is highly unlikely

IB has signed a letter of intent, so he's there unless released by Ky.

Most teams release players upon a coaching change, no?

I'm not putting my eggs in the IB basket. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...

and I'd bet part of IB is saying, crap I may have to follow a 40-0 team without Cal and meanwhile Redmen have this new blood and energy and maybe even Slice! Might have wanted to wait till the spring before signing that LOI buddy!

If a coach resigns, does that free you from the NLI?

No, but often they do. Doughty for us is an example, locked in unless SJU lets him go.

Even it all those things happened, playing basketball at Kentucky is still a great option.

they are prone to mediocrity. If im not mistaken Cal went to the NIT first round with them two years ago. And let's not forget Billy Gillespie or whatever his name was

I can only remember one kids not getting released (Appalachian State I believe) but that is also why some kids are now waiting to sign until the late signing period. The kid Dorsey refused to sign a LOI for Oregon because he likes the coach not necessarily the college. He didn't want any redtape to cut through if the coach left.
If Cal leaves and UK releases him IB can reopen his recruiting. If UK refuses, he is stuck and must go through the transfer process.

“It’s an exciting time in St. John’s basketball, Chris gives the program and university credibility,” Repole said. “My hope is the university gives him all the resources and support to be successful.”

Some of Repole's own resources would be nice to have as well.

Oh I'm sure there are other big name coaches that he talked to, that we don't know yet.
