Mullin as Coach

Seth Greenberg was saying on ESPN that Mullin better know what he is getting himself into. That a college coach works all day and has no time to himself. Then the host says with a smile that he hasn't accepted yet and then Greenberg says something like he should think long and hard. Maybe I have paranoia but I think ESPN doesn't want him taking the job because it will help the Big East.

I think everyone know about Chris's work ethic and I don't see this as an issue, maybe a challenge. I think CM will excel. he is just that kind of person. He will not accept mediocre efforts. I am excited to see the team's efforts next year as I don't think they will lose for lack of effort ever.

Agreed. Back in the 80's and part of the 90's it wasn't just the St. John's players (past and present) who use to come down and ball in the Summer. The group also included local High School Players who went away to play or stay local at schools like Iona and Fordham. Some really great one on ones with harmless trash talking.

I am waiting for the press conference announcement.
 
I think Mullin takes a kid like Alibegovic and turns him into a very very good player. A very consistent 3pt shooter. A real good stretch 4 or big 3.
 
Decision made. Will definitely be renewing my season tickets! And I plan on being at the very first game, which I usually skip because it's an exhibition game. But not this year!

What I'd prefer is that Mullin is greeted with the very same chant that he heard as he left Alumni Hall with for the final time as a player. For those who weren't there or don't remember, the team left the floor, but the fans didn't. A spontaneous chant broke out of "We want Chris." until he returned to the floor for one last time, applauding the fans and his teammates that he dragged out with him.

It would be just fitting to welcome him back the same way.

GREAT news. Home Run Hire which could end up being a Walk Off Grand Slam Hire....excitement is at the highest I've seen it since 2000 and this is BEFORE there is even a presser. The fan base is going to be energized, the Garden is going to be rocking, and Chris and staff are going to be making St. John's and NYC a destination for top high school basketball players again!

I actually got a chill reading that tweet, which is something that usually only happens every time I see the end-of-game clip of the 1980 U.S. hockey team beating the Russians.

I was initially hesitant on the idea because I was afraid to see him fail, but now that it's happening I couldn't be more elated. There is more electricity than at any time I can recall on this board.

He will also be respected by future recruits parents, even more so then a salesman like Lavin. This kid is for real and so will St.John's be. Thanks to the committee whoever you are!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!! The ticket office was cracking up a couple of years ago when the garden got redone because our crew in our current section was writing in on their applications that they wanted to be seated with Mike Maher.

Now people just have to write they want to sit with the 114 crew. They will know who it is :)
