(MSG) Villanova, Sat. Jan. 13, 8p, Fox Bus, 970AM

I hear ya! Nearing 40 years as a fan I watched last night with such a different feeling as I was expecting a blowout last night as I did against seton hall but watched a competitive game. Yes very disappointing season as was hoping for a post season bid. In year three was hoping for better

Excited thought this one was on fs1 and then it got changed. :( But damn 37 points from Ponds, he went off. At least we competed I figured they wipe floor with us. Not bad considering we had all those recruits at the game, they could see we have some pieces just need a few more. 0-6 (prob 0-7) really does suck though, but what can you do. We have no choice but to have a maybe next year attitude at this point. All the transfers and recruits not working out are what truly killed us this year.

figured we were going to get destroyed so was pleasantly surprised we didnt. I didnt walk out of msg angry. I thought the refs sucks and didnt call enough walks on Nova

Yes and we will be much much better on rebounding and interior defense. Should see NCAA next yr ,if not something wrong

The open 3 pointer at the end that Clark missed when he was wide open hurt. Ponds had a great game taking nothing away from him. But what happened to his shot from 3 he was suppose to be a deadly shooter from deep, put his % and not having Lovett is why our deep shooting is so abysmal

Agree if either would have played a little better we would have won. Bout staff should have made sure we were on the face of the kid who took so many threes (do not remember his name) but he was wide open for most of them

Agree with you but do think players coming in next yr we are NCAA bound and should be in the top 1/2 of the confr.

Wasn't able to watch last night's game, but followed on-line box score on ESPN and based on what I've read here and elsewhere, sounds like we gave a very good account of ourselves (as in Seton Hall game). Agree with many posters who have said they are watching the rest of the games with a more relaxed attitude.
Many posted here prior to start of season that the way the roster was constructed, we were one significant injury away from disaster. Not only did we have a significant injury to one of our most important players, but it was a season ending one. Can't expect much more than that the skeleton crew play tough the rest of the way and give us a few unexpected wins.
Next year looks promising on paper, especially with the increased depth. As others have said, Chris & Matt need to make certain the three freshman recruits actually come here. One additional piece I'd like to see us add is grad transfer traditional point guard unless staff intends to sell Shamorie on a full year of playing point and thinks they can make that work.

Why do these small slow Italian-American guards with unpronounceable names from Villanova always kill us.

I am getting tired of losing to this team.

I think Nixon was President the last time we beat Villanova.

Darn.

Shamorie is first in the conference(Big East Games) in assists to turnover ratio, so whatever position you want to call him, he is capable of being a point guard.

Further when compared to Simon they have roughly the same number of assists in very similar minutes but Shamorie has 11 less turnovers this season.

I hear you but Divincenzo is like 6'5" not really small.

Boo Harvey posted:
Is he (Alan Griffin) athree star recruit? Could you provide any insight on his game? Looks like he has offers from primarily mid-majors, but I understand that’s not dispositive.

The Honorable JPM hs see Alan play numerous times and like him a lot.

There has to be a reason why he's a 3star.

The inevitable loss at this point but they did play hard and represented themselves despite being short on players.
Got to believe they will win a couple of Big East games.

@ X is an L, next chance for a win is Saturday @ G-Town.

Next expect anything as a ST. John's fan. As I always said: "Expect the worst, but hope for the best."

No more excuses next year, time to put up or shut up.

Where is Mussini when we need him? I want to know how we never really seem to recruit 3 point shooters. That kid on Nova was lights out. We got two points, they got three.

Just tired of watching the other teams beat us as their fans give a sly smile and take over the Garden.

Assuming LoVett isn't coming back (never assume?), we'd better fill his slot with a natural SF who can put a serious number of points on the board.

LoVett won't be back.
