we have good guard coming in next yr.We will not miss Lovett
A guard, yes. But who replaces Ahmed?

Sure, we'll miss LoVett. A seasoned, highly-skilled, fully-versed Major Div 1 guard leaves, and we won't 'miss him'? Yeah, we will. Hopefully it balances out and more so, with all the additional pieces + experience-gained of the returning crew.
Question is, IF he does go and we have that slot: what piece to replace him with? Seems to me, a skilled 3-point shooter, or a skilled wing would be the priority.

We will be better next year without Ahmed. Simon, Clark, Diakite, Brooks, Keita and Roberts will be taking Ahmeds minutes at the 3/4.

Minutes, yes. But which of them is the consistent outside shooter that we'll desperately need? Just think it's a gaping -- and a potentially critical -- hole in next year's roster.

Ahmed is 36% from 3 point range (1.5 a game). I can guarantee at least one of the new players on the roster next year will shoot at or above that level. While he does occasionally hit the outside shot, He won't be missed dearly. Too much hero/iso ball combined with low BB IQ and terrible shot selection.

At no point before or during the game did I have a feeling that we had a chance to win. Both teams played poorly the first half and that was more us slowing it down (purposely?) and Nova playing down to our level. Nova scored on a couple of possessions in a row at the end of the half and only were stopped by the halftime buzzer.

We teased at the end but had no chance because you knew somebody would either commit a dumb foul or turnover (or both), miss a bunny, not get a lose ball, not come down with a rebound, commit a huge defensive lapse, or the creme (Nova) would rise to the top and make plays and foul shots.

No we would not have won if we had Lovett or if anyone of Ahmed, Clark, Simon or Owens had played better Nova would have just played better. Ponds tried to carry the team but had no help what so ever. He drives to the whole draws 3 guts with a fourth converging, passes to an open Clark in the corner and ..... nothing, nada, zilch.

When the crowd was in to it and everyone was standing, I sat and watched on the big screen.

Well it was nice evening out with the wife (cocktails and appetizers)
