(MSG) Seton Hall, Sat. Feb. 24, 12 NOON, FOX/570AM

Season of frustration but look at bright side. At least not on that FBI report. Heads are ready to roll when big time coaches are on wiretaps it is going to get ugly. NCAA either acts with heavy hand or face being dissolved. They can’t turn blind eye
We are now firmly in last place in the BE. Game behind Depaul, DEPAUL!!!
I'm gonna assume DePaul beat Marquette today, per your post.

While it pains me to say it, but this was a game where Alibegovic needed to get some minutes. Owens just doesn't have the strength or body to compete with Delgado....and it showed.

Especially when Delgado pushes off twice in OT

Onthe train.
Regulation was good
Overtime was atrocious. So many opportunities.
Owens was non factor today
The Bad shots. Bad decisions then the miss front end of one n one
nixe four game run

and just by saying that or even thinking that says a lot about the team Hope future recruits play much better and staff goes to coaching school starts anew looking at future recruits that has the HT ,wt iq to not only play in this league but to win

With guys we have coming back we will be fine next year as long as we can get a quality power forward from somewhere, JC, 5th yr Sr or Frosh. I’m counting Ponds as back , he needs to improve his outside shot and get his body stronger. Last two games he has come back down to earth. Still good but I think he winds up staying.

Enjoyed being at competitive & fun game. As usual execution down stretch was a problem. Hoping Keita can give us even a little post play. Generating nothing there is ridiculous. I don’t expect Delgado, just someone to back a guy down low occasionally & either put it up or kick to a shooter. Agree Clark should get a lot of time at the three spot. Added depth with reasonable skills + Ponds returning could = Dance appearance.

Perfectly said. Great observation

Although you never truly know, I do tend to agree with you here regarding Ponds. He needs another year in college, with work over the summer on shooting and strength training.

Ponds is the best thing that has happened to this program in recent years but if a player his size doesn't shoot threes from the college three pt line in the low forties he can't play in the NBA. I don't know his season percentage but I can't imagine it is even near forty.

Thought a sequence that really hurt fairly late in the game was an offensive rebound put back and one, guy misses FT and Cale the smallest guy on the court winds up with another O Reb and put back for a 4 point play. Rebounding weakness really hurt there and throughout. Thought Sonogo did a pretty good job slowing down Ponds when he switched on him. Did not play smart in OT at all. Don't know story with Yakwe as to why he is completely benched but if he is physically able to play should see 3-4 minutes per half to give front court guys a blow and may have been able to press a little bit more and also avoid fatigue late in game.

I understand a lot of people being down on Owens. However, I think it's unfair to expect him to bang down low with Delgado for 38 minutes. Tariq is a high energy guy who gives his all. He needs help down low. We can't expect someone with his frame to be a solo show in the paint.

I agree that we definitely need a 4 or 5 for next year that can make an immediate impact. At this point, grad transfer or Juco has to be a major consideration.

It's especially hard for Owens to bang with him, when Delgado floors him twice in the OT and no call is made, then Owens fouls out on what relates to a touch foul.

Needs to cut out that jumper nonsense. You want to score get some put backs. Just because you can hit 2 out of 6 jumpers doesn't mean you are a good shooter. Felt bad for him today got pushed all over the place. Was on the floor 72 times by my count. He should sell his secret on how to go to college for 4 years and not gain a pound. Would make a fortune selling the recipe to Coeds.

Shame about this year is if we had a Lamont Hamilton and Ron Rowan type players this is a sweet 16 team. Need another shooter and a guy that can get an easy basket.

Anthony Glover would also be great on this team. I am not so high on Marcellus, but to be fair I think Glover was just 6'5" and he was a presence in the paint.

If I am not wrong we would play Marquette in the first round of the B.E. Tournament, providing the standings stay as they are today. Unfortunately, that brings us into the Nova bracket.
