How do you figure CMA's system is not effective in today's college game and is obsolete? Because when I think something is obsolete it means it doesn't work at all anymore, and that would mean he's like Patrick Ewing at Georgetown no matter how much talent he has he just can't win games.
Because when his teams have had talent they've always won in this system. When he had a first round pick in Demarre Carroll he won 31 games and went to elite 8, when he had Bobby Portis he won 27 games and won a tournament game, When he had Moses Kingsley and Jaylen Barford he won 26 games and went to round of 32, when he had Daniel Gafford he won 23 games. These are guys that were highly rated out of high school, first team all conference talent, or first round draft pick talent.
Outside of Julian, who was unranked that developed he hasn't had much talent here yet. The best players thus far have been an unranked and 3-star kid. And he deserves some blame for that on the recruiting front, there's some guys like John McGriff and Damian Sears that were not high major talent that scholarships were used on. Now he's got Curbelo a former top 50 player, Jones a former 4-star, he just got Storr (the man of topic here), he just landed Gardner, a top 100 player. So, let's see what he does with that, so far they are 9-1.
