More Storr!!!!

As an avid follower and who can blame you I am sure you know know most of what I say is just to entertain myself. Though Storr should play more lol
I also enjoy the back and forth and I am a Mase fan as well- the poster not the chucker
Anthony Mason Jr would have really benefited from being brought along slowly..

Storr is averaging 12.6 min per game right now which isn’t bad for a freshman on a Big East team. I do think it’s important to get him mins so he can develop and stay engaged. Also he can help offensively right now so it’s not just an investment in the future. But yeah 13 mins a game isn’t a crime. I agree with Amase that once he starts to contribute more in ways other than scoring he’ll see those mins tick up.

Unfortunately just another time I am Wright pun intended and blind sheep showing faith towards a coach who hasn’t shown he deserves it. Oddly enough people turned on Lavin pretty quickly which was totally unwarranted and the greatest player in program history. Weird fan base
I don’t love Mike A but you can still be wrong about this wheeler thing… and you are

In my opinion , way too much criticism is being directed to Storr’s Defense . There are guys playing a lot of minutes on this team that put on the Matador suit on more than a few occasions . The CMA Defense of 40 minutes of Hell had gone to Hell a while ago . It’s not a sustainable or effective Defensive scheme in todays College Game . Sure , on a selective basis it works in game situations but , its obsolete in todays game . That’s not CMA ‘s fault just the reality .

How do you figure CMA's system is not effective in today's college game and is obsolete? Because when I think something is obsolete it means it doesn't work at all anymore, and that would mean he's like Patrick Ewing at Georgetown no matter how much talent he has he just can't win games.

Because when his teams have had talent they've always won in this system. When he had a first round pick in Demarre Carroll he won 31 games and went to elite 8, when he had Bobby Portis he won 27 games and won a tournament game, When he had Moses Kingsley and Jaylen Barford he won 26 games and went to round of 32, when he had Daniel Gafford he won 23 games. These are guys that were highly rated out of high school, first team all conference talent, or first round draft pick talent.

Outside of Julian, who was unranked that developed he hasn't had much talent here yet. The best players thus far have been an unranked and 3-star kid. And he deserves some blame for that on the recruiting front, there's some guys like John McGriff and Damian Sears that were not high major talent that scholarships were used on. Now he's got Curbelo a former top 50 player, Jones a former 4-star, he just got Storr (the man of topic here), he just landed Gardner, a top 100 player. So, let's see what he does with that, so far they are 9-1.

I am almost always for playing the guys who have earned their PT but in the case of a what for us is a prized freshman recruit a little forced feeding of minutes for experience especially in the OOC portion of the schedule is warranted at least IMO. Now if he doesn't deserve to be one of 5 on the court much vs Nova, Creighton, etc. in order for us to have a chance to win those games then by all means he should not be on the court.

You gotta admire Larry a little bit, because he does no research and comes with no facts, but he believes in what he's saying so much and he's not backing down for anybody. He's been told 3 times and shown the minutes and stats of Wheeler at Purdue, but in his mind, Wheeler didn't get playing time there and he don't wanna hear nothing else about it :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Like Trump!

On merit, since he is our 2nd most skilled shot maker he should at least absorb all of Wusu’s minutes. But it goes beyond that, we are not a good program. We don’t get a lot of talented kids. Kid with offensive talent should not lose minutes to an untalented player simply because he is younger. It was stupid when Louie did it and it stupid now.
And as far as this development nonsense, off top of my head can only think of 2 guys who got roughly the same pt as Freshman who became good players for us Shelton Jones and David Cain. And they were freshman on way better teams than this one.

Who's our most skilled shotmaker, not counting Soriano?

I’ve seen Storr be put in situational times in games for shooting. But there’s just not enough to force feed him 20 mins a game.
He’s a raw young pup.. he’ll have his moments this year.

He also happens to be on a team with veteran wing players. It’s going the way it should for him. He’ll earn more if warranted, which hasn’t been the case yet.

Let’s keep the dialog civil. Not every post has to be replied to.
Come on folks. 🙏🏻

Well I guess I disagree that Wusu is untalented. I see value in him. I also don’t really know what you mean by Storr being “our 2nd most talented shot maker.” No question he’s the more naturally talented player with the higher ceiling but it sounds like you think he’s ready to step in and be a centerpiece to this team and I don’t see that yet. Right now he’s an inferior defender to Wusu (as well as others) and his impact is completely dependent on if he’s scoring effectively. Wusu’s jumper isn’t falling right now but we’ve seen him also go through stretches where it is. I thought he played really well in the 2nd half of DePaul.

I do agree with you that it’s important for a talented freshman/important recruit like Storr to play. Even if he struggles a bit. I think recruits at Storr’s level should be incorporated early. If they feel a part of things and wanted then they’ll trust the coach and work. Storr’s going to be a key piece this year and a bigger piece next season. He’s good and a seriously for-real athlete. I just think you’re viewing him as a ready to hit the ground running one-and-done type superstar and as happy as I am to have a talent like him on the team I think he’s a tier below that.
