There are a good number of posters who loved to question Hicks numerous times since his hire.
Should we be worrying that the resignation was a sign of a broken promise or annoyance at being skipped over in favor of Martin? Hicks is held in high regard in NYC, so if he lands at the high school/AAU level instead of an open college job, I suppose it could hurt us if he is bitter about something. ...
Willard has two openings on his staff at Seton Hall and hasn't recruited well in NYC area. Given Hicks' local connections, any chance he ends up there?

Hopefully Whitesell can draw up some plays to free him up.
@moe_harkless: @maxthehooper just made 47 threes in a row from the down corner. 92 out of 100 all together
Here is a quote from one of the posters that could possibly pay dividends for us at some point (if Whitesell ends up with the Johnnies)....
This is a good question. I don't begrudge Whitesell moving on to a program that can pay him more but it sucks that it comes right after the July evaluation period as it puts us behind the 8 ball on all the kids he was the principal recruiter.

Like I stated earlier.... Whitesell's hiring could, possibly, open up some recruiting resources in the Midwest.

Not really sure how much he can help. Its STL we're talking about which is a notch below major programs. That being said I saw one 4 star recruit STL was after that looked intriguing. 7 footer from California.

I'm not particularly sweating that it was St. Louis.... He knows the bar will be raised at St. John's.
The talent he worked with at St Louis last year beat Butler three times.
For instance, he could've been targeting a 2 or 3-star kid who may play with a 4 and 5-star player. Not to mention, relationships he's probably established with coaches (whether, it's a head coach of a high school or AAU program) throughout the Midwest.
Saint Louis went 3-0 vs. Butler last year (Butler was ranked #9 and #15 at the time) and went 2-0 vs. VCU (ranked #24 and #25).
Head coach or not, a team must be well prepared to get those kinds of victories. I don't think SLU had the most talented players in the world, so that is extremely impressive.
Seeing that we have a relatively light schedule this year, I have very high expectations what we should be able to do this season with the manpower that we have.
Certain posters are rejoicing........
STL forum doesn't want to see him go, so that's a good sign at least. He doesn't have to go crazy, we just need a solid x and o guy.
