Mo and Draft

so..Mo...excuse me Maurice made the correct decision.. he ends up in a good spot and will be able to take care of his family, fantastic outcome for what seems like a great kid. I hope his NBA career is long and fruitful...

Congrats Mo and best of luck to you.
We wish we had you a little longer but your one season was great.

I echo the sentiments of everyone else: best of luck in the NBA to Mo. I hope he has a long career. Wish we could have kept him for another year or two.

First Dunlap jumps from assistant Johnnie coach to head NBA coach and now our very own Moe Harkless gets drafted number 15. Great freaking news!! Congrats to our newest NBA player.

Am I the only one who was bummed out by this pick? I'm happy for the artist formerly known as Mo but I'll never root for anyone who has Philadelphia written on the front of their jerseys. I hope he stinks and they trade him to golden state in 2 years where he averages 25 points per game and rips it up every night.

Perhaps a more appropriate post would be " I hope Philly stinks " .
Not really sure what you have against Mo?

Well said redmannorth. You articulated how I feel.

All the best to Mo (he'll always be Mo to me) and I hope he represents St. John's well. A lot of hating on Mo over on Facebook. Yeah, I was disappointed that he left early too, but I really can't blame him. And he did give it his all while he was here. So I wish him much personal success, but do hope that Philly stinks.

All the best to Maurice and as one who was very vocal about the mistake I thought he was making, the crow never tastes good but must be eaten!

No, I only feel that way about teams from Boston. i would still root for Mo though if he were a Celtic (Mo plays good, team plays bad sort of thing).

Congratulations Mo.

Um no. Regardless of your hate for Philly you should be saying you hope Maurice averages 25 ppg in Philly but they never make the playoffs. Why hope he does bad? Bad teams still have good players who score and succeed.

Congratulations Mo!

Having a pick this high is great for St. John's. Recruits notice.

Glad he went where he went. We get to see him more often.

Congrats to Moe and his family. All respect due. Good kid. I wish him the best. I'll be catching all the Sixers games that I can.

Great day for SJU. Having Moe stay local will work wonders for recruiting.

A win win for all. Harkless goes in the top 15 of the 1st round. Stays local on the East coast. A great recruiting tool for Lavin and St John's. Hopefully this is the beginning of a St. John's to the NBA pipeline again.

No one here despises Philadelphia teams more than me. I wish he had not been drafted by them. But I hope Harkless is a 10 year NBA all star, and I also hope the Sixers never win a game.

Yeah but it doesn't work out that way. In a perfect world him being successful wouldnt help them but we all know that wouldn't happen. I always supported Maurice and was happy for him since day 1 when he declared for the draft because that was his dream. Now I hope his dream is a nightmare.

Wow.

Wow really?

Every team has a leading scorer you know. Regardless of their record.

You don't think a Duke fan who hates the Cavs isn't happy Kyrie led them in scoring. Or a Davidson fan who hates the Warriors that Steph Curry has been so successful? I mean there is no point in going on because the point should be pretty clear. A player can still be amazing stuck on a bad team.

Also I'm a Yankees fan, Rangers fan and Giants fan. I have certain teams I don't like. But if a player from my alma mater went to a competitor I would never say some of the things you have said. I don't like the Red Sox but wanted to see Hansen do well.
