Correct! Since moving down to Tennessee after retiring, we bought football season tickets for UT-Chattanooga, a mini plan for their basketball team and head to Knoxville for an occasional Vols football and mens and women's basketball game. College football definitely is king down here. Almost everyone has either a Vols sticker or a front Vols license plate on their cars. I still have my St. John's front plate on my car as does my son who is a double grad. After the Vols win over Kentucky last night, I split screened both games in your neck of the woods...Gamecocks over A&M and L'Ville over Clemson.

You can't get into a decent sports bar to watch college football games down South on game day as they are all packed, but you have the pick of the litter for Sunday NFL games. lots of places don't even bother to buy the NFL Sunday package anymore. For me, the Jets and Giants both stink so there is no rush to watch them.

I had Giants season tickets from 1984-1998 and Yankee seasons from 1996 to 2004 which I split with Dennis Myron. I tried to support SJU last year by buying 4 MSG season packages which I donated and gave away to all my former team physicians and friends who supported the Johnnies when I was there. This year, no phone call or email to renew from our ticket office!!! So my $$$ go to local college programs.
SJU Athletic program still suffering through growing pains.

Great comments , AH . You are 100 percent correct on all this
Just to add 1 more thing , Friday nights are High School Football Nights here in SC and myself and friends , etc go to see our Local boys play . It’s a nice evening out . The Community supports the kids well and it’s great to see .

We go to a few Basketball games too .

Once in a while , we will catch our USCB. Sand Sharks , Div 2 BB College Team . Good BB but , not high Div 1 caliber . Still they give scholarships , based on need and I doubt there is any NIK money involved . Kids play for their Education and enjoyment .

Remember when that existed …

Apologies for not posting this sooner

Thanks so much for posting this. Rick looks really emotional in that video.

To me , by that tribute, Rick completed his transition to full blown Johnny. Just in time because there's a vacancy here for an icon

Does anyone have a video of Rick taking the sweater off and placing it at halfcourt? I watched him walk to halfcourt from behind the basket and had to choke back tears when he did that.

I saw a video of him laying the sweater at center-court, so it does exist.

I saw that one thanks. I would have liked to see the whole thing from when he took.his sweater off. He really did it in a quiet way and I resoect that.
Did he take off on the court? Just wondering if he took it off by/past the tunnel and then walked back out with it in hand
