No excuses. Broke well, got himself into a good position, pace was honest. Had nothing around the far turn.
 
Repole won a big race at Churchill today leading up to Derby. So he had a good day even without Derby. Fact that he had two horses running on derby day says volumes. As for Fierceness, bad gate, he got banged around out of gate. We will see what Preakness brings.
 
Repole won a big race today at Churchill before Derby. Even without Derby win, he was flush with cash today. As for Firceness 17 gate and banged twice by other horses out of gate. I like him at Preakness.

I am sure Fierceness will not run in the Preakness. Pletcher hates running in that race because he does not believe in running horses back in two weeks. He likes to space their races out.
 
Pletcher has never won a Preakness Stakes some of that due to what Ghostzapper said.

Pletcher likes to rest horses.

if he trained Citation I don’t think he would have ran him in Jersey Stakes after Preakness and before he was running in Belmont Stakes with chance to win Triple Crown

Different world today and like everything else in sports all money driven in 2024.
