Mets

What a win, I won't forget this day for a long long time! We have the pitching to dominate the Cubs series. Let's get it!

you certainly had a memorable day :)

Holy smokes. Wow just wow. I was trying to finish up one last tax return before midnight but I had to run down to Stout to see the bottom of the 9th. Epic.

Never been a big fan but very happy for Collins, classy guy. Would have played the pitching different but he got it right for sure.

Actually I was hoping Syndergaard would go out for the eight inning. Great job by Jacob, Noah and Jeurys. I think my afib had a rough night but it was worth it. Thank you God and my very special guardian angel.

You picked a great city. I have 6 coworkers in and around Prague, and they tell me it's one of the nicest cities in Europe. I've yet to get there - almost did last summer, but will very soon

Daniel Murphy 3, Dodgers 2.

Put it in the books.

I take back that Murphy was the dumbest player, especially after his steal of third. We really have to sign Murphy as a free agent. Let's face it he makes "CONTACT." He did it by himself tonight.

True this is only a divisional series, but no doubt in my mind this is one of the all time great Met wins - so happy for this group of kids and vets. Been waiting for this a long time.

And I have to give TC credit because a lot of times I want to choke him but not pitching Thor the 8th worked out

He not only stole third in the most literal baseball sense of the phrase, but the game and entire series with his play tonight. He stole it back, after the Utley play threatened to be the winter focal point of hotstove banter. A game for the Met ages for Murphy - he should be called Robin Hood for stealing back a series from the more successful Dodgers.

We don't think of it much anymore, but if the Dodgers had not left NY for California, followed by the Giants, there would be no Mets. Of course, our blue and orange was taken from Dodger blue and Giant orange. Seeing Larry King behind home plate, another Brooklyn transplant and lifelong Dodger fan, reminded me of that. Both Giant and Dodger franchises should be cursed forever when playing NY teams, and last night for oldest fans (before my time) was a sweet measure of revenge. My introduction to the Mets was in an era where the Brooklyn raised Koufax, along with Drysdale dominated the Mets, but my roots don't run as deep as having those teams flee NY.

Still basking in an amazing win. Could hardly sleep..

It's been awesome so far (other than sleeping till 12:30 today because of the Mets). She's a great sport though and the proposal couldn't have gone any better. Very charming city

I really thought this was a bad move. Thankfully it worked out but boy was I cursing.

The biggest thing I got out of this is the Mets young arms (after their obvious talent) are have balls of steel.

DeGrom, without his best stuff gets through 6.

Meanwhile, Syndergaard having never pitched in relief, comes in and resembles a vet.

And lastly, Familia. He his a big game closer. What a moment to record his first career 6 out save. If anyone was having Benitez hot flashes, he put that to bed.

LET'S GO METS!

Edge of your seat baseball from the first pitch to the final out. Daniel Murphy will forever be a Met legend. deGrom somehow gutted his way through 6 and Familia in the most pressure packed 6 outs was flawless. This is why baseball is the greatest sport ever invented, not even close

Couple of other things about last nights game that are largely being overlooked now but we couldn't have won without

Granderson called out at 1st when he was clearly safe. Without replay he would not have been awarded the bag and wouldn't have scored on Murphy's double. So replay cost us on the Utley play but saved us last night

The DP on the come backer to deGrom. The mets have screwed up that play several times this year but turned it last night and ended what could have been a big inning for the Dodgers.

We've had a lot of false starts of the years, declaring pitchers "the next Seaver and Koosman". High bar - those two were just in their 3rd and 2nd seasons respectively when they carried us past one of the best teams - the Orioles - of their generation. These guys - Harvey, deGrom, Syndergaard, Familia, and Matz, are collectively even less experienced, but man you couldn't tell.

I'm kind of glad Syndergaard was taken out. He threw a dominating, overpowering inning that he can carry with him through the playoffs and into next season. Had he given up a 2 run homer in the 8th to lose the game, I'd hate to see another Steve Blass in the making.

Cubs - Mets. Lots of history. Two great cities. Should be a blast.

How great is it to have to use two great starting pitchers to closeout a series and still get to start the next series with a fully rested Matt Harvey?

Would never put them in Seaver / Koopman area. Too young for that. However, DeGrom has already had a better post season than Seaver. He is matching Koosman, who was the great in the postseason.

I take back everything I ever said bad about Murphy. He can Murph all he wants if he keeps being this clutch. We aren't moving on without him.

Someone please wake up Duda and Wright and tell them to join be rest of the team in Chicago.
