Mets

I want to take my son Monday but attendance this school year counts to the high school he wants to go and my wife won't let me. I will probably go myself if they win one of the first two.

On Monday either the Mets or Cubs will play an afternoon game.

With TV money making that decision, does it make the Mets vs. Dodgers at night a safe bet?

Cheapest tickets on stubhub for Monday right now will set you back $597.36 for 2 standing room only tix. Why do they have rows and seat numbers on SRO?

not sure. I wonder how many sro's were sold. I prefer walking and watching from different areas anyway but if my favorite spot on the 3rd base side is open between 3rd and home plate I'm not gonna want to move
From a TV perspective, my money is on the Cubs-Cards being in prime time - huge fan bases and rivalry. 10 years ago the Cubs knocked the Yanks-Red Sox out of prime time.

The conventional wisdom points to NY-LA. We all know NY is a premiere market, but Louisiana is more football oriented.

I cancelled my monday meetings just in case. I can't see a 1pm game but I guess 4 or 5 pm would be possible. I actually would rather have that anyway that way I'm not getting home after midnight

Because of logistics, I had to wait till the dust settled on if I'd be able to go with my son or not, or who I would go with. If it is an afternoon game, he may come home and I'll pay whatever - it's already insane - INSANE - but at least I've been to half a dozen games this year already and was on board way before the masses because of the great young pitching (and absolutely horrendous hitting). If it's a Monday night game I don't want him to miss a day of school to travel back on Tuesday. Kind of bummed because his introduction to MLB was he and I getting season tickets when he was 9 for the 2006 season and going to all the playoff games with him.

Note of caution: If anybody is pulling their school age kids out of school to go to a playoff game, please be advised that giving the reason that you have baseball tix is not an acceptable answer. Just wink and tell them your kid isn't feeling well - the principal will know and won't make a fuss.

If you tell the teacher you are a met fan I'm pretty sure they will show mercy for all the suffering the kid has gone through

I remember seeing the principal who I knew well, (and there were a line of dads to take their kids out of school). The principal said, why are you taking him out of school, and I said we are going to the Mets game. He said, "You can't say that. He's sick, right?"

Oh and unless there's a sweep Tuesday 8 PM

Where did you see the 8:30 time for Monday? MLB website only shows Tuesday and Thursday game times.

I went to school with former Twins hero Gene Larkin's brother Scott. He traveled to Minnesota for the World Series with his family, but called Chaminade to say he was sick. I can't remember the circumstances (maybe caught a foul ball), but of course he ended up being shown on TV, and the dean of students of course saw him. I remember Scott was sweating a little bit when he returned to school, but the school let him off.

Hey Guys,

I was just able to figure out logistics to get by son home and back to college, and am looking for 2 tickets to monday nights game. Vivid seats must have surge rates because their processing fees have gone from around 10% two days ago to about 30% today. If anyone is looking to sell two tickets I'd pay fair market value. PM me.. THANKS. If I have to I'll just buy on line but the processing fees are stupid right now.

Can someone remind me why Cuddyer EVER plays overs Conforto?
I don't care about hitting match ups just get him the F out of there
Inexcusable. He's not even worth the "hitting match up." He'll go 1-4 and he'll get that hit with 2 outs in an inning with no one on. Conforto should play every night.

Agreed and Conforto plays better defense. Much better so you should have your best fielder in there to because the hitting isn't going to matter anyway in this game.

Luckily that play didn't F us up other than working the pitch count higher which has me concerned

Agree on the pitch count, 45 through 2 innings means we are looking at that vaunted Mets middle relief
