Mets 2024 Season

All critical analysis aside, this team has given Mets fans a terrific season. They've built a roster where every podition player has contributed, the starters exceeded expectations, and Diaz in the pen is rounding into form.

I wouldn't put anything past these guys, but they just got off the mat in game 5 and pounded Dodger pitching.

The future is bright.

Keep Pete. Lindor is the heart, Alondo the soul. Trust in Stevie.

Unlike game 2, we will surely get some of their best bullpen arms tomorrow.

But that means there is a ton of risk involved for the dodgers. If we pull this one out - their bullpen will be significantly weakened for a potential game 7.

Suddenly, it would put them in a situation where their game 7 starter (who I’m assuming would be Buehler) would need to give them probably a longer start than he gave them in game 3. We worked a lot of full counts against him.

Unfortunately I lean towards thinking this dodger lineup will continue to be too lethal, but if we can execute tomorrow and get a great start from Manaea, things get a littleee hairy for the dodgers, which is what you want because maybe they start to tighten up a little

Roberts was in a really interesting spot yesterday. He knew he'd have a bullpen game for Game 6 and couldn't really use his top-of-the-line guys hold the deficit. But, I question if it was smart because you never never never never want to give a team life and any momentum in the postseason, which is exactly what happened. I really expected LA to go for the jugular/win yesterday, and still surprised it played out that way.

The Dodgers won a must-win bullpen game against SD, but they're now without one of their top relievers from that game also, who went 1 and 2/3rds. They're going to have to get probably half of the game from a less than ideal pitcher. Like you said, either way, their 'pen will be burnt for a Game 7. Buehler is far from a sure-thing for them.

This is precisely why I wanted the Dodgers, and completely stand by it. They're a better team than us, for sure, but they're also the only team in all of the National League that would give us a decisive starting pitching advantage for a Game 6 and 7.

Met bats are heating 🔥 up. We are two wins from the World Series. Out of 30 mlb teams only 4 are standing, and that mere fact is incredible.

To a man, the Mets are not impressed with that. They are here to win tonight with their best pitcher going. Manea is efficient on the mound and can go deep into the game tonight. His post season record is 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA, surrendering only 11 hits in 17 innings. The flip side is over his career he hasn't had success vs. Dodgers - but he is a different pitcher now.

I like that McNeil is back, and at a time when Jose's bat has cooled - his sac fly was huge. Winker is on fire, Alonso is in a groove, and Marte is on smoking it. Vientos has been a star, Lindor brilliant, and Alvarez had great at bats in game 5. Zero K's vs Dodgers shows just how disciplined our guys were.

Lets just win game 6 and worry about tomorrow after.

YGB! LGM!
