Max Hooper

If he transfers out of the conference he doesn't have to sit out, I think.
A friend of mine in LA, who is originally from Brooklyn, saw the kid play a lot last year and thinks he would be a good addition. FWIW

I think he will have to sit out the year.

he shot 47% one year in hs breaking the league record for 3s made. Had a 4.7 gpa according to an old article. I don't even know how that is possible musy be out of 5.0. Played at mater die and brewster with jakarr. Kid sound like an interesting zone buster that will be a great student. Watching the kid o. Nc state drill 3s made me want a kid like this. As a 10th man off the bench, sounds like a good piece. Also he had interest from nd and st. Marys and Stanford so not like he was a low major recruit

I went to highschool in CA. Out there an AP class is worth an extra point. So for instance if you get an A in an AP class it's worth 5.0, a B is worth 4.0, etc.

Dang Boo, you beat me to it. Honors classes also garner an extra point, though I thought it really only applied to the UC and Cal State systems and they way they track students academically for enrollment.

Wonder why he only played two games last year. Was it academics related? Given his stellar academic track record that would be surprising.

Also, given his acadamic background, why would he prep a year? Is it b/c he didn't get any offers coming out highschool? If that's the case, it seems strange that we'd be interested in him now. He didn't exactly get an opportunity to showcase himself at Harvard.

Don't think it was prep. Think it was just finishing his HS career.

Does anyone have an idea as to why he only played 2 games? Injuries or something else?

He played in 2 games last season for Harvard, both games were in November, and he only played 2 minutes in each game. He either had an issue with the coach or was injured. But he does look good in the video.

Isn't he the guy from the oceanographic institute?

"You were on the Indianapolis?"

The basic rule is that any transfer from any collegiate institution to a Division I school must spend one academic year in residence before he or she is eligible for competition.

Basically you have to have two full time credit semesters under your belt before you are eligible. Branch can play in December because he transferred and spent the spring at SJU.

Brewster highlights.

Lightning quick release may make up for lack of foot speed, athleticism, etc., to get his shot off in the BE.
