Maryland Eastern Shore, Tue. Nov. 27, 6:30p, FS1 / 970 WNYM

I have a real bad feeling about this game. I sense we’ll be down at half time ( everybody panics) then the second half we will win by 10-12 points with everybody on this thread not feeling good about this.

I actually have the opposite feeling. Think we'll come out fresh with Heron & Clark looking for redemption after bad game last time; expecting a blowout. I'm much more nervous about Saturday's game.

Gtown lost to Mike Dunlap and undefeated LMU
I thought LMU was undefeated?

If we don’t beat them by enough to get Roberts and Williams burn, I can guarantee many unhappy Redmen fans.

I hope our team just saw what happened to 18th ranked Oregon.

Oregon lost to Texas Southern University ( HBCU) 89-84 at home.

Texas Southern had lost games by 34 and 38 already and were 25 point underdogs.

We should be well-rested so anything but a clear blowout would obviously be a major disappointment. I want to see that this team is capable of playing at a consistently high level against bums. This has been a concern for several years now. I look at teams like Miami who aren't blue bloods but almost always seem to beat bums by 30+. 3 out of our last 4 games or so we have squeaked by much inferior competition.

You're right. I'd hope to see more games from us like the 8 point thrashing Miami put on 310 RPI ranked Bethune Cookman.

Game to practice our ball movement, give and go and some set plays in out of bounds etc etc hope all our players get in don’t care about the score just keep winning

Me too! Saturdays game is very important!
Minimum acceptable point differential is to win by 65, say 90-25. Otherwise, it ill kill out NET score and we won't make the tournament.
If we don't win by 65 we need to immediately hire Michael J. Fox as strength and conditioning coach to teach the boys how to "wolf out" and pry Coach Norman Dale out of Hickory High School to head assistant so he can teach Mullin how to play with 4 on the floor to keep Roberts and Co. on the bench. :)

What good comes out of playing a game in which you're favored by 28 points? This scheduled game is a joke.

Perfect game for some on here:
1. If we don't win by some random arbitrary number of points people can come on here and complain about Chris Mullin's coaching and Shamorie Ponds, um........ not sure why people have been complaining about him exactly.
2. So that when Roberts blocks some stiff's shot in 2nd half of 25 point game, those on here can post "Roberts should play more."

Every major team has at least 2 or 3 of these type games every year. We've probably gone a little overboard on that this year, but every team does it.

Usually, the coach or administrator of the big name school, is trying to help out a friend. The small school gets a nice check to come and take the beating, hopefully.

St. John's has a whopping 98% chance of victory tonight, according to BPI.

I think that might be the biggest percentage we've ever had, although that system has not been around all that long.

guys despite what everyone else thinks, i think this is a perfect game for us. We NEED to work on moving the ball around better. We need to work on perimeter defense, we need to work on high % shots, and we NEED to play Roberts and Williams more. So, this is the opportunity for Mullin to do just that. The following game vs Ga. Tech is a true test vs a ACC team that will be viewed as a quality win. We MUST win that game. So, this game is the perfect tune up for that game. Stay focused and stay hungry fellas. The talent is there, its just how hungry and smart we play is the question

Games like this help w chemistry, allows experimentation w lineups and give our bench players some burn.

Agree 100%.
I’ve thought the major reason we haven’t played Roberts and Williams was due to the cliffhangers we’ve been in as the guys get used to playing together.
Tonight’s game will test that theory!
The Hoop Gods know we’ll need some bench and some backup in the front court to go deep into the BEC and through March Madness.
Let’s hope we develop some depth.
