If it's an absolute rule that you don't start if you miss practice, then there is nothing wrong with enforcing it. Obviously, it didn't upset Rysheed. More and more, he is showing how good a passer he is going to be.

I thought it would have been more crowded considering it's super bowl weekend. It started getting crowded toward the end when gtown fans started showing up.
 
This was a fun game to watch. Marquette wasnt hitting their shots but we would have win this anyway.

This is how we should have been playing all year. D'lo was on FIRE but he was also getting good looks because we were moving the ball around much better.

Jordan had such quick hands on D and he made a real good impact without even scoring for most of the game.

My only gripe is I thought Branch shouldnt have gotten pulled after that sick bounce pass 5 minutes into the 1st half but overall I felt Lavin and the team did a great job

We played with energy and we were real active on D for most of the game other than some easy layups.

Now get a win at providence !

+ 1, that sums it up pretty well.

Some of those bad losses are starting to sting. If you look back this would be a very different situation if we had beaten Depaul and Providence.

It's funny I dont think we have ever met but my redmen friends and I were all talking about your betting habits the entire 2nd half at the game. lol

yes he had to visit his mother and he missed practice. Mandatory no start.
 
speaking of Max Hooper, he got plenty of minutes last game, as far as im concerned he didnt maximize those minutes. He is not in there for defense or to run the offense, he is in there for one reason only, SHOOT the 3. He needs a quicker release and to create his own shot. Perfect example is how Creighton's Dougie does it. Just my two cents....

He is out there for one reason,to shoot the 3. Plays have to be run for him and team mates have to look for him when he is open.If he can start making his 3 s ,things will open up for everybody. But,he can't make a 3 if he is wide open and no one passes him the ball.

Incidentally Max doesn't even have the best 3 point percentage on the team but then again, why let facts get in the way of illusions.

his 39% is the best on the team for anyone that's taken more then 10 shots. You don't wanna include someone that went 1 for 1 do you?

I also think there are a lot of posters who think that Hooper is the reason we lose, the minute he enters a game. He played a few minutes against Creighton and shot 1-2 but all anyone wants to talk about was the one play that McDermott took him to school. McDermott took a lot of the team to school on Thursday. I think he should be used situationally and maybe he can improve his percentage closer to 45%.

Yes I saw that. I think if they gave him a few minutes he could've lost Thomas and made a three.
 
And by the way Redmen.com sometimes poster most times lurker Shaun L was the guy they called up there during the game to hit the 3 shots and win I think an iPad or something like that. Totally wiffed the free throw was all net on the 3 pointer and missed the half court shot.

At least he won a pair of tickets to the next game and the 33% shooting would put him high on our team :) He's a good dude. Him and his brother Cole game out to the UCLA game and met us at our redmen.com party out there

Finally won one today! I met a bunch of the guys at Irish Times after the Pitt game a few years back, ill be at the next few MSG games- i'll meet you guys prior..maybe Sunday . I normally go to Café 31 before the games.
 
We played great d today. And as others have said the reason we looked so good today was ball movement. Passed much better today and looked for the open man.
 
Anyone notice Harrison really hitting the boards the last few games?
 
CO is stepping up his game at the right time because Providence has Batts, Henton and Harris up front. They're big and we're going to need the CO of the last two games. The Providence game is huge! I will be at the Creighton game next Sunday. If we win the Providence game MSG will hopefully be buzzing next weekend.

lets be honest with ourselves, the only thing that will be buzzin next sunday is a few drunk patrons. msg on a sunday night for a st. johns game is not a great atmosphere unfortunately.
