Marquette Game

Wowwwww I need that t-shirt that D'Angelo Harrison is wearing in the post game interview!!! The STJ with the Crown on it! So dope!!

i noticed that shirt too.. Where can we get one? Also, in the DLO interview with Raf, it looked liked Billy was Taller? Isn't Harrison suppose to be 6'3"

Wonder how tall Rafftery is then?

Oh, great win!

Nice win. I wouldn't make the statement if we beat Providence we ll make the dance. Gotta win 1 gama at a time. We should be hungry at Providence. No question who player of the game is. Co has been looking like a different player lately.

Beat Providence, and then we are in a serious position to make a real statement at the garden next Sunday night.

Excited about this team again, after the 0-5 start, we are 3-1!

CO is stepping up his game at the right time because Providence has Batts, Henton and Harris up front. They're big and we're going to need the CO of the last two games. The Providence game is huge! I will be at the Creighton game next Sunday. If we win the Providence game MSG will hopefully be buzzing next weekend.

Maybe now that is has been put out there by a respected Coach like Buzz, Lavin will take it truly to heart. I am always afraid he'll yank the kid.
Buzz doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would give a compliment with an ulterior motive like Pitino or Boeheim.

Impressive win. Harrison was unstoppable today. As someone else said, this was very reminiscent of the Fordham game, but never would have expected it against Marquette.

congrats to team and coach on very good win. Many contributors.. D'Angelo played much better on both offense and defense and hit more of his shots! Lets keep the momentum going at Providence. Not easy but we can win if they play better down the stretch. Cotton is their key..

Marq has no outside game. They shoot 29% from 3 which is worse then us. Thomas is their only consistent threat from outside though Mayo could get hot at times

Stat of the day: Max Hooper at 39% is our top 3 pt shooter

Also Marq's only road win was at GTown who was playing without Smith and Trawick so they had nobody to match up with Gardner and Otule.

The pick: St Johns by 17

If anyone wants my pick for Cuse Duke I accept all major credit cards

speaking of Max Hooper, he got plenty of minutes last game, as far as im concerned he didnt maximize those minutes. He is not in there for defense or to run the offense, he is in there for one reason only, SHOOT the 3. He needs a quicker release and to create his own shot. Perfect example is how Creighton's Dougie does it. Just my two cents....
He is out there for one reason,to shoot the 3. Plays have to be run for him and team mates have to look for him when he is open.If he can start making his 3 s ,things will open up for everybody. But,he can't make a 3 if he is wide open and no one passes him the ball.

PG IV refuses to pass the ball to him regardless of how open he is.

Not a day goes by that posters don't fantasize about their illusions of Max Hooper.

Incidentally Max doesn't even have the best 3 point percentage on the team but then again, why let facts get in the way of illusions.

his 39% is the best on the team for anyone that's taken more then 10 shots. You don't wanna include someone that went 1 for 1 do you?

I also think there are a lot of posters who think that Hooper is the reason we lose, the minute he enters a game. He played a few minutes against Creighton and shot 1-2 but all anyone wants to talk about was the one play that McDermott took him to school. McDermott took a lot of the team to school on Thursday. I think he should be used situationally and maybe he can improve his percentage closer to 45%.

As soon as he entered today's game he lost Thomas who made a wide open three.

Best game SJU has played this year on both ends of the court. We have to pound Providence! We are jelling baby!

Could it be possible that the post move Obepka made vs Creighton with his back to the basket moving to his left and banking in an 8 footer is a sign of things to come?
He made it look so easy and for a team so offensively challenged in the half court it would be a dream come through.
I hope both his and Jordan's minutes and responsibilities increase for the rest of the year.

Another nice game from Obekpa, two in a row. Raf or Johnson said that Jordan missed a practice due to his mother's illness. Please tell me that wasn't the reason Lavin didn't start him.

His demeanor on the bench didn't seem to suggest someone who was in the doghouse.

We have a team that I am sure nobody would want to play us in the Big East Tournament; so much talent. And the games are in our backyard.
