LoVett

Marcus LoVett (sprained knee) has been working out with trainers, but still not practicing. Remains day to day, per Chris Mullin. We'll see if he practices later today. #sjubb

Working out with trainers? What is he doing learning how to tape ankles?

Helping install a donated jacuzzi.

Source told me the Marcus LoVett injury is a sprained MCL in left knee. Chris Mullin said there isn't a set amount of practices he would need to return. #sjubb

That's not good enough for me. A sprain is actually a small tear in the ligament. I want to know if there is a significant perfusion, swelling, temporary loss of motion in that knee. I want to know if there are any other mitigating pathologies such as mild to moderate arthritis, bone chips, or a tear to the meniscus. Have surgical options been evaluated. What medications have been prescribed, and in what doses? What is the treatment and rehab regimen? Fans need to have full transparencies, especially those to pay to have cable to watch this stuff. Come on now, this is a disgusting lack of information.

Jesus bro, You want to know his blood type as well ( I say this Jokingly of course)? I don’t think they can give us that type of information considering our opponents read these injury reports as well.

I think you missed his humor

Hopefully Marcus's injury is career threatening, otherwise there's no way he can justify staying out this long.

I hope he's not having trouble defending against Ron Linfonte.

sprained MCL 2-6 weeks for grade I. Grade II or III months or longer.

Stef Curry in the NBA Playoffs two seasons ago was grade I sprained mcl. It was similar in that initially they said he'd be back soon, then a couple of weeks. Knees and spine you never really know and they pretty much plague you your entire life and if you're lucky you get long stretches where you are fully functional and not in pain.

looks like the marketing dept is playing a really cruel joke or is just totally out of touch with reality when creating/timing their game day ads

Just wondering - if he does not return shortly will he be eligible to warrant a medical redshirt?

He presently has two years of eligibility after this without a medical redshirt. Most people would be pleasantly surprised if he came back for the 2018-2019 season. Don't think there is any possibility we seen him in a sju uniform in 2019-2020, let alone 2020-2021.

To answer your question, LoVett already had a redshirt year when he sat out his freshman year bc of academics. The NCAA rarely grants a player a sixth year of eligibility. I'm not sure the precise criteria, but I know it's extremely rare.

He turning 22 in March, so I doubt he would stick around for a 6th year.

Look, guys. Lovett is going to make money somewhere playing bball, unless of course he suffers a Daryl hill type injury. More than our season, just let him heal and not come back too soon.
