Lobster rolls etc

there is definitely excellent seafood in California but it is telling that Maine lobster has won this event in both previous years.

Well, of course it does. It's a lobster event, if it was an oyster event, or a tuna event?. No question Maine has the best lobster. All the top restaurants on the west coast are serving maine lobster. But Cousins is an LA company, albeit started by a pair of transplanted Maine cousins. Started out as a food truck here but now into franchising food trucks nationally and has a brick and mortar restaurant here as well.

There is Pacific tuna, Pacific oysters and even Pacific lobster you can fish for south of central California. The best seafood is local and as fresh from the water as possible. Better yet, caught yourself. That is what I meant. Maine lobster flown into NY is just not as good. Fly it across the country and that goes double.

Keep in mind that in an investigation of restaurant seafood, some 75% of all seafood was found to be misrepresented on restaurant menus. So, wild atlantic salmon was really farm raised, fish sold as swordfish, was in fact, cheaper fish with a similar texture. Covered in butter, garlic, wine, or another marinade, diners rarely if ever catch on. "Maine lobster", Homerus americanus, is found in waters from Labrador to New Jersey, yet its common name is Maine Lobster. There is only one remaining duck farm on Long Island, yet Long Island duck is found on menus all across the country. So if you prefer the taste of lobster caught in Maine, you'd probably best go to Maine to eat to have a reasonable expectation that it was caught in Maine.

Definitely going to next year. Wanted to get up there this summer but the vacation made the timing tougher. We have a redmen.comer moving up to your neck of the woods so we will have to have a redmen.com Maine lobster roll party

I've been to Minnesota's more than a few times but, hahaha, I've never eaten there before. And...usually after midnight.

Me too. Actually haven't been there in probably 12 years at least because last time I was there was with an ex girlfriend who lived in those state streets down there.

But a friend of mine on my block brought me back one the other day and it was excellent. Probably the only time I ever ate food from there sober but then again I don't even think I ever even remember food there. lol

BTW a friend of mine and myself tried this place today. Ambrose Beer and Lobster. # 1 near the seaport so that's nice. #2 outdoor seating so thats great for clawbiance. #3 nice beer selection and they carry bronx pale ale.

We didn't get the grilled cheese but we got the connecticut style rolls and then the maine style. Excellent

8.75 claw rating

If you have a free Saturday or some evening during the week, take a trip to Jersey City and check out "Just BeClaws"... what an experience. Order lobster/crab/shrimp etc. by the pound, served in huge plastic bags in their homemade sauce. The food was unreal. It is also BYOB, so that's a plus.

Of course they also offer lobster rolls, had one as an appetizer, was delicious.

+1 for you. Thx for the new place

It's that time of year again.

Although technically, this is really the beginning of soft shell crab season. My personal favorite.
Even above the holy lobster roll.

went to a place on city island last weekend. Sea Shore. The lobster Roll was ok. Toasted bun which I didn't like so I give it 6 claws but you can eat outside on the water so the clawbiance is nice

Next time anyone is in Beijing go to The V. They import their lobsters from maine.

Very good roll with some funky asian spices. Had it 2 weeks ago. 8 claw rating
