Lavin parting ways with St.John's

Tomorrow he will be getting a 10 year contract.
Saturday he will be fired again
Sunday He will be abducted by aliens
I'm actually almost starting not to care one way or the other at this point

And the way things are shaping, being abducted by aliens is probably the most plausible of the three.

Lavin has gotten fired and hired more times in one day around here than Billy Martin has in his whole career.

Keep Lavin, fire the coaches. - G. Steinbrenner

Please get this ordeal over with....... extend or fire Lavin before end of business tomorrow Friday March 27th.

The Maven-Avon family will be right either way because the Maven reported yesterday that an extension was coming.

Ironic huh, Lavin rhymes with Maven rhymes with Avon.
.

per Maven since he cant post here:

"tell Beast he is full of s---. Show me the tweet where i said he is getting extended yesterday."

Hey Avon, it was reported yesterday on here. Not busting on you or trying to make stuff up.

I wish all of these posts with "sources" would get abducted by aliens.

Avon and Beast: Stop.
Thanks

Grow up... Neither was posted with malice. His assertion contradicted what someone attributed to his dad, and when his dad got angry, I posted what appeared to be a tweet from Albano.

Now if you have problem with that, turn in your moderator badge. I didn't take Avon's response as hostile, and mine to his was not either.

What I do find hostile though is some of your posts to me, so please stop.

Considering the time needed to reach a decision simply whether to extend the contract how can the committee ;
1 Draw up a list of potential candidates
2 Contact the potential candidates to determine their interest
3 Either bring those interested in for interviews or travel out to interview at their location
4 Then get the committee together to make a selection
5 Negotiate a contract
Not enough time before the season opener

A committee of redmen.com-ers could get that done by the weekend.

For yours and others edification: Panther posted that Albano had reported an extension in the works, and that was what I was conveying to Avon, without malice. In the cessation post, I simply copied the text of Panther's post so Avon could see it. That's not a war, it was intended to be civil discourse, and as such provides value to those who jumped all over Avon's dad for him purportedly tweeting that.

Considering how people reacted to the tweet that Albano denies, my post was worthy and important for Avon to see.

Is it all possible the school/president/committee/whoever is in charge of these things is clueless enough to let Lavin go into the final year of his contract without further commitment? If that's the case, maybe we shouldn't be waiting on any type of announcement lol

I doubt it.

That said, I beginning to think the new president is not the savior we were looking for. The current silence is extremely damaging, and a smart PR person would understand that.

St. John's where decision making is optional.

As a Lavinite i don't like reporting things like this, but a few players don't care if he doesn't return... Just thought as courtesy to the board i should write everything i hear whether i like it or not

do we have any players even returning for that to matter ? :)

If its Obekpa and Jordan, maybe that's a good thing. Means they're planning to stick around no matter what.

Somehow I don't think that's what you meant though.
