Kyle Anderson PG (UCLA)

Zags reportng SHU and UCLA lead and he expects KA to chose one of those two programs. Just last week he had us and UCLA leading.

SH and UCLA, I guess have been mentioned as favorites. I think St. Johns and Florida still have a great chance. If he is a one and done, like most believe, the big east departures really dont come into play on his decision.

IMO, the Big East departure has very, very little to do with where Anderson goes. I just believe we've lost steam in the past week. I, actually thought that was the case prior to the news of Sampson, Pelle and Garrett.

Have any of you just felt "something" (whether, it was good or bad) due to your instincts? Well, in this case my instincts told me something wasn't quite right since last Monday. We never had an in-home, so I figured we were either in the driver's seat or were unofficially eliminated. An in-home isn't the end all or be all, but it was kinda odd considering every school in this recruitment had one with the exception of us. As, close to the vest as the Anderson family played it then were they tipping their hand by giving all the schools an in-home and not us? Maybe, they felt comfortable with St. John's and were allowing the remainder of the schools to play catch up. Who knows!?! IMO, the ship has sailed with Anderson and St. John's.

I'd love to be wrong, as I think he'll certainly fit in with what we're doing. I also feel we'll be one of the top teams in college basketball a season from now, as well. Considering, Zags has been generally getting his info from the Anderson's and Jimmy Salmons then the latest news doesn't bode well for us in this recruitment.

I do feel a little uneasy about Anderson. I think the main reason we didn't have an in-home was because his mom accompanied him on his St. John's visit, so I am sure she had a nice talk with lavin and the other coaches. I dont think the departure of the three really come into play since we may have them back hopefully this dec or if nothing else some next. and if by some chance non return we still have a pretty good 6 back from this year, plus Gathers and Andersons AAU teammate Woods. Plus lavin would have extra ships to give out if needed next year.

I just see UCLA as hes destination, dont know why just a gut feeling. hopefully I will be very wrong and he chooses us. We will see in 48.

His mom accompanied him on all of the other visits, as well. Those schools received in-home visits.

It would surprise me if he came here, like most of you guys its just a feeling and seems like we lost some steam for what ever reason. My guess goes (And just a guess) UCLA, Florida, Seton Hall, STJ and then G-Town. Lets just hope we are all wrong

I'm almost out on my window ledge. I'm not only pessimistic about Anderson coming here (although I can cope with that), but after what went down this weekend and what will inevitably follow, such as UConn and other football schools leaving, plus the possibility, however remote, of the Garden hosting the ACC tourney, I'm just flat-out pessimistic, period. With so much instability and no longer being to claim membership in the nation's best basketball conference, I'm deeply concerned about attracting top-tier kids to the program as well as keeping Lavin here for the long run ... and if he were ever to move on to greener pastures, then all the euphoria we've been experiencing for the past year and all our dreams of being a perennial power and winning a national title evaporate, and it's a return to the Dark Ages for us. Someone, tell me I'm wrong.

I just feel either Lav feels everything is fine and all buttoned up. Orrrrr he some time ago read or heard something from the prospect that said to him, enough is enough. Time to fish or cut bait........We will know in a very short time. I think We are his best move, but it is not my decision.....It's KA's

The BE & ACC tournies are the same weekend.
Do you think we're being evicted?

Personally, I think the tried & true ACC fans prefer to have their tournament in a more Southern environment, but if the ACC wanted to crush the Big East or simply throw its weight around, there's no saying that in time they wouldn't outbid the Big East for the Garden. Money has always been a part of collegiate athletics, but as we've been seeing in recent years, it's now about greed.

Apologies for going off topic. And here's hoping that my pessimism about Anderson isn't warranted.

Seton Hall has an in-home visit with 2012 PF Chris Obekpa tonight, followed by one with 2012 star Kyle Anderson on Monday night.

Question? If KA opts for either UCLA or Florida, is that a signal that recruits may shy away from the big east?

Nope! It's a signal that one of 'em were the school he wanted to attend. The Big East will get formidable basketball teams one way or the other. No offense, but this could've been placed in the Anderson thread.

It really isnt a KA topic, more of will recruits become less inclined to attend non-football BE schools, with the un-certantity of the league. I say this because Cincinatti already had a de-commit from a 2013 recruit. I know that happens all the time, but is it likely to happen more now that high school kids dont know how the leagues will play out in the future. not just the BE, but the Big 12, SEC and ACC.

So many recruits said that they picked certain schools because of the BE conference. I guess what I am trying to ask is not playing against the Syracuses and Pitts going to sway some recruits away from the non football schools?

A Florida "insider" claims (keyword: claims) Anderson is gonna announce for UF, and the Gators supposedly have another in-home on tomorrow. Say what? LOL

We only have one more day, folks.
