Knicks

I wouldn't describe myself as a huge thibs guy but the names we are involved with are weak and do not justify letting him go directly after an eastern conference finals appearance. This is looking ridiculous
Hate to say it, but this is looking more and more like the dysfunctional Knicks organization of the first twenty years of this century. Made no sense to fire Thibs unless they had what they considered a strong replacement who they knew they could land.
At this point they should be feeling out Jeff Van Gundy’s interest imho

But since Dolan’s fingerprints are all over the coaching move doubt the egomaniac goes for a guy he has fired.

It just befuddles me that some Knick fans are actually surprised that while firing Thibs the Knicks had absolutely NO plan to who they actually wanted to, you know, Coach the team!

The Knicks are now like the drunk flopping around in their bedroom looking for the bathroom while vomiting 🤮 all over themselves. People don’t need to wonder why it’s been 50 years give or take since they last won the title.

Is there any precedent for a coach of a professional sports team firing a coach and then "un-firing" that person (besides Billy Martin and George)?

How about the NYK Search Firm (Heidrick & Struggles, CHI (actual name, kid you not)), scouring the pool of available candidates and coming back to the Knicks and reporting "the most qualified available candidate, Mr. Dolan, is Tom Thibodeau. You may know that name" "Thank you, sir, and please pay our Invoice of $650,000"
