Knicks

Very funny I also met him last year while in Greece and he was super friendly. We were in a pool together and I asked him what he’d think about joining Knicks because we’re so close to the top. Naturally he told me “I think we are close too” and that he absolutely loves NY but isn’t crazy about the ownership and taxes implications lol.

Really took the time to explain it all to me while swimming with our kids no less. A lot could change though, this was 10 months ago and their situation has gotten pretty dire in Milwaukee.
As I have been saying Fire Dolan, the root of all Knicks and Rangers problems. What coach would want to come here after the "Thibs treatment"?

Giannis comment about ownership says a lot; the NYS/C taxes can be handled in contract; until they fire Dolan, the other issue can't be.

Post season player interviews are common in many sports

Liked guys like Donte & Hartensstein, but this team went further and were slightly better
Not sure they were better but no argument because the only comparative criteria shows that they were, but obviously impossible to factor in opposition strength year to year.
As for post season interviews, they are a useful tool, no question, but to fire a five year successful coach and cite those interviews as the reason smells of scapegoating to me. I think the two trades were way more of a factor than Thibodeau in losing to Indiana.
Bridges is a good player, prone to disappear for significant stretches, not nearly a player worth what they gave up. Towns is obviously fairly one dimensional and just did and does not really fit the Knick team.

Very hard to say which team was better as last year team was bitten by key injuries in the playoffs and I believe regular season record was identical.
What I can say as a long time die hard fan is last years team was more fun for me to watch and chemistry sure seemed better. But water under the bridge at this point.

Agree completely

Boomer and Gio this morning added it up, $178 million the Knicks have spent paying guys NOT to coach.

You would think a franchise that hired guys like Hornacek, Fizdale and Derek Fisher (not to mention Isaiah Thomas) might have learned that the grass is not always greener.

But no.

I gotta get me one of those not-to-coach contracts.

I'd settle for two free beers and a Mike Breen bobblehead.

So he is not coming and who knows what is happening with Kidd….seems like they just should have kept Thibs, upgraded the depth and ran it back in hindsight.

Yeah well so here's a stat for you:

Bulls 14/15: 50-32 under Thibs
Bulls 15/16: 42-40 after firing Thibs.

TWolves 17/18: 47-35 under Thibs
TWolves 18/19: 36-46 after firing Thibs

Knicks 24/25: 51-31 under Thibs

I'm putting down a marker that they won't be better in 25/26

I think the same, no reason to fire Thibodeau in the first place; certainly not when you obviously have no concrete plan for a replacement. Just like poking and hoping on the pool table.

In an effort to bring you back into the fold, Dolan may have his sights on hiring Seth Greenberg as the next coach.
Dolan's skills as being a sports-business owner are matched only by his skills as a leader of a music group that couldn't get a gig at a New Car dealership grand opening.

Talk about a guy being born on third base and thinking he hit a triple.

He got gene-pool lucky being Charles Dolan's kid.

There's nothing wrong with being a member of the lucky sperm club as long as you don't totally bollocks it up.

JD has totally bollocksed it up.

Listened mid day to WFAN BT and Licata did almost 40 minutes with Ron Artest, Metta-Sandiford Artest, Metta World Peace. Metta was honest and open about his many sundry past, but most of all he admits to being openly wanting to be the Knicks next HC. He pretty much knows it is a pipe dream, but he says all the right things and came off credible. Leon Rose would probably hire Norm Roberts before he'd hire Ron-Ron.

I did not know this but he's been HC of Cal State Div. II women's team (they kept on saying "girls" team). He said they hadn't been to their Big Dance for 25 years before he got there and now has done it twice and that last years (I think he said) they were ranked in the top ten.

He is a die hard Knicks fan and he would love to have been with the Knicks in his prime (cameras beware!).

Didn't say much about his past entreaties toward getting the HC job with the Johnnies, although he didn't seem to hold a grudge. He didn't want to talk about it or name any names. They let that part go.

Very interesting takes from an outstanding player with as many names as Sean Combs.

If the Knicks hire Kidd it would be a colossal mistake. He wouldn't make anyone better and his in game coaching is suspect at best.

I think that the guy who got canned by Ja Morant is the coach they need.
