Don't look at boxscore. 🤣

How dare you ask him to do that? He did all those other things like John Cena...they can't be seen by us.

Pitino must have told him not to or the ball just always bounced off rim in opposite direction

Somehow 6 foot Smith got 9 and Wilcher got 4...but that's just what boxscore said.

Sometimes its not just about the boxscore, sometimes you have to have coached CYO basketball to see what the simple folk can't see or understand. ;)

MVP - Zuby
Positive Stats of the day 8 turnovers, +11 rebounds, 94% from the line
Surprising Mood Changers (for the better): Wilcher came in and really D up Hausen in the 2nd half, Richmond midrange and free throw stroke looked like last year, when RJ Luis passes he really opens up the offense.
Room of improvement: help D is still 2 steps slow, we can revert to "me ball".

Great call outs.

Curious What areas stood out to you about Dunlap ?

Great crowd and great win.
Hausen was automatic in the first half! Brady was no match on him and played too many 1st half minutes. Most of those minutes should have gone to Prey and Smith so Pitino adjusted in the second half and we rolled from there.
Zuby was the MVP by far and played with intensity that Kadary Richmond lacks.
Wilcher was fantastic today! Scott is still inconsistent.
I want to see better bench use against Bryant .....especially Prey.

I think at this time last year Jenkins was not producing. In any event I don’t see what others may see in Dunlap but his defense is good and I don’t expect more than 5 points a game from him I think other posters may be expecting him to be Steph curry.
I’d be happy if he hit 1/3 of his threes.

A few post-game quotes for you:

Rick Pitino

"I don't think I would have ever forgiven myself if we lost this game. It was really, really important that we get a win for Lou. Great crowd, great second half, a lot of emotion behind the game."

"'[I said] on this day, where all our greats came back, on this day when our legendary coach has left us, you got to play for the name on the front [of your jersey],' and nobody characterized that more than Zuby. His heart was as big as a mountain. ... I thought Zuby played so, so hard in the second half, that it was contagious for the rest of the guys."

Zuby Ejiofor:

"His death was something that we all felt, especially those that were here last year. "We fed off that. We were going to play for him this game, and we came up with a win."

Simeon Wilcher:

"I felt like [Lou] was there with us today. All the extra energy we had going into that second half, that was from Coach himself. We all felt that, we all turned it up a little bit, and the whole gym felt it."
