Kadary

Watching HOU-ALA, their guards (Cryer and Sears) really stood out at the end of games. I don't see the potential of Smith in doing what they can do, and I'm not sure we have the spacing to provide that for Luis late. Kadary's the one guy we have who (maybe) can reliably get to the hole & get a decent look, or pass it for an even better one.

True but two national POY candidates may not be Smith's comp set nor a fair comparison.

Pitino mentioned a few times over the summer and early fall how they’ve been working to fix Kadary’s shooting form. Well, they broke it. That ugly hitch he has on his 3 point attempts has bled into his FT form. In so many of his FT missed this year the ball never even got above the rim
Sometimes you should leave well enough alone. You don't fix Jim Furyk's swing because it looks weird, you let him go out and win the US Open. He shot 80% from the line and went there 4.6 times a game last year before anyone tried to fix him. Just let him be a first team big east player, don't try to make him a jump shooter.

Just maybe Kadary want to be a better outside shooter, so he has a shot at the NBA.

Kadary was literally fouled every single time he touched the ball in the Georgia game — usually more than once. The refs completely lost control of that game and allowed reach-ins start to finish.

Every time one of our guys drove the ball there would be 2-3 players swiping aggressively at the ball low getting plenty of hand, arm, and body.

That should be factored in. He didn’t just forget how to play basketball.

There was one play in particular going to the hoop where he was absolutely mugged; Gillen couldn’t believe there was no foul called.

It was crazy. Plus the leaking roof? I don’t know if anyone here has ever slipped on a wet basketball court before, but you think about it the rest of the game. And it was his 3rd game in 4 days AND he was barely able to walk after the Baylor game.

He was terrible against Georgia. I think he’s been terrific every other game. He could have had 15 assists if our guys were making wide open shots in the Baylor game.

The Baylor game showed he *can be* as good as any guard in the country, in terms of scoring/getting us a basket when we need it. Its something we haven't had here since Ponds -- but Kadary is a much better all around player + much better size than he ever was.

Conditioning and his free throws are my concern with him.

Any guard in the country? Just not seeing that at all.
