Kadary

KR also looks to be in great shape. Trimmer.
Don't worry. If we lose a game where he scores 5 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists, on here he will become fat, slow, lazy and never dove for a ball again.

Obviously he is most effective in a half court game where 18 feet and in his size (6'6") and strength makes him difficult to stop with the ball in his hands. This is an extremely valuable commodity because he can create space even when teams pack it in.

There are always guys who are playing for stats, who have handlers and family in their ears to score more. Kadary is often content to dish, rebound, defend. Last night with Smith out, we needed points and he stepped up and provided that. Don't be shocked if he reverts to 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists when Smith returns to 100%.

When your most high profile profile and possibly your best overall player is content to fill a stat sheet without scoring 15-20 points, you have the potential for a very good to great ensemble cast.

KR is a much better player with the ball in his hands. I wonder if RP will play Smith off the a little bit more when he returns.

Best way to describe KR is that he's a money player. He thrives and turns it on when the stakes are high, the lights are on, and all eyes are on him. When Delaware and Quinnipiac come to town, not so much.

I have really turned around on KR (and happy to be so)I thought he was terrific last night and hope he keeps it up.
Would not say I have turned around because I react to what I see game to game; having said that IMO he is playing excellent ball right now (and for a while) and there is no question he is proving to be a player you need coming down the stretch of close games. The shots don’t always go in for anyone but he obviously and seriously amps his game up at crunch time.

Son, is that you?

Why does your dad text like Marillac.

Looking back, how big was that first half shot clock buzzer beating line drive that Kadary got to fall

Kadary's shot is basically a line drive, no arc shot and last night it finally dawned on me where he learned. Years ago, when I played PAL ball it was in the gym of a public high school that had an odd configuration. One half plus of the court was basically a 2-story building so there was normal space above the basket, but the other half had a ceiling that was about 3 feet above the back board, so you had to shoot without any arc. Teams that mastered the short side could dominate and we would always shoot for that side in first half, so visitors had no time to practice on it.

It’s clear to me that Kadary came into the season a little out of shape and it explains some of the lazy defensive plays and weak drives we saw earlier in the season

I’m just so happy to say that those issues are completely gone. Not only is he dynamite driving the ball, but his defense… it’s like he’s not even the same guy from November/December. The guy who used to be caught ball watching and getting beat off the dribble is now seemingly everywhere.

Maybe it was a situation where he had to play himself into shape. You see that with some pro players (Luke Doncic does it every year).

Donnie Marshall mentioned several times that Kadary looks to be in the best shape he’s seen him in. Might’ve been the only coherent thing that dumbass said all night.

What a game for Kadary and I’m glad we have him!
He is our difference maker…wanted ball in his hands every crucial moment last night
