Kadary

Look at the Kadary love-fest that has developed as folks have seen more of him and his game. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

I agree with Dink, part of Kadary's problem is that we have too much traffic in the lane and not enough outside shooting to open it up. If you give Kadary a more open lane, he is unstoppable to the rim.

I agree with Larry Wright in his assessment of the shooting form of everyone he described, including Kadary from range. Until the staff messed with his form his midrange was very reliable, and it's coming back some percentage-wise now.

And I agree with Logen that he is a guy who produces in the clutch and wins games for you when winning time arrives.

That's without getting into the many things he does that don't show up on the stat sheet and the remarkable degree of unselfishness in his game.

If you wanna see highlight-reel dunks, long-distance 3s, and someone who shows his emotions on the court instead of staying even-keeled all the time no matter how big the moment is, he is not the guy for you, I get that. But if Moose AND Paultz AND Logen are starting to come around well, that's good enough for me! 😇
“The Three Grouchamigos” in your last sentence. 😡

He should be mad at whoever the hell were his CYO or travel team coaches. How can you not change that shot before this point? I mean guys like Shawn Marion had ugly looking shots but his actually went in. But even with Marion, how did someone not change that?
Not everyone grew up with paid basketball lessons and thousand dollar travel teams. Lots of kids still m learn basketball in schoolyards.

Here’s the thing you should remember, these are people with all the foibles and idiosyncrasies that entails; leave the robots to Elon.

Anthony Mason (the Knick not the Johnny) had a pretty awful looking jump shot that went in, so who knows about bad looking shooting form.

Kadary's shot won't ever be mistaken for Mark Price's that's for sure.

QUEENS, N.Y. (Jan. 22, 2025) –
St. John’s men’s basketball guard Kadary Richmond was one of 15 players from across the country to be named to The Sporting News Midseason All-America Team, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.

The 2024-25 Preseason All-BIG EAST selection landed on the third team alongside Florida’s Walter Clayton Jr., Gonzaga’s Graham Ike, Illinois’ Kasparas Jakucionis, and Tennessee’s Chaz Lanier. Richmond joins Marquette’s Kam Jones (First Team) and Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner (Second Team), as the three BIG EAST players to be selected.

Richmond has started 18 of 19 games for the Johnnies this season and made an instant impact in his first season in Queens. The graduate student is averaging 10.6 points, 4.8 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest. He ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in helpers per game and eighth in swipes per contest.

The Seton Hall transfer has filled the box score as of late, logging 10.8 points, 6.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 steals over the Johnnies’ five game winning streak. He has finished in double-figures in 13 games and added five or more assists in 11 contests this season.

The point guard is 12 points and one assist shy of becoming the fourth active player in NCAA Division I to record 1,500 career points and 600 total assists. Richmond would join- Ace Baldwin IV (Penn State), Steven Ashworth (Creighton) and Dayvion McKnight (Xavier).

Richmond arrived at St. John’s after three seasons at Seton Hall and began his collegiate career at Syracuse in 2020-21. The 6-foot-6 playmaker exploded for the Pirates last season registering 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.2 steals per game en route to leading the Pirates to an NIT Championship. The Brooklyn native was named All-BIG EAST First Team and All-MET First Team following his breakout 2023-24 campaign.

The Red Storm will be back in action tonight at Madison Garden, when it meets Xavier for a 7 p.m. tip-off on FS1.

Kadary’s “camp” is now examining his NIL agreement to see if this recognition entitles him to additional compensation via his “National Player of Year” achievement bonus clause. May be a stretch. 😇

It’s clear to me that Kadary came into the season a little out of shape and it explains some of the lazy defensive plays and weak drives we saw earlier in the season

I’m just so happy to say that those issues are completely gone. Not only is he dynamite driving the ball, but his defense… it’s like he’s not even the same guy from November/December. The guy who used to be caught ball watching and getting beat off the dribble is now seemingly everywhere.

Maybe it was a situation where he had to play himself into shape. You see that with some pro players (Luke Doncic does it every year).

Donnie Marshall mentioned several times that Kadary looks to be in the best shape he’s seen him in. Might’ve been the only coherent thing that dumbass said all night.

What a game for Kadary and I’m glad we have him!
