Good luck to your son. Hope he has a good trip.

“You the Man!” :)
Thanks for your post RMN!
Yep, we are not being out worked -
We are heading in the right direction.
So because our past carousel of coaches failed to build a viable, sustainable program, it becomes imperative that Anderson exceed realistic expectations in his first recruiting cycle? I hope he does and he and the staff are certainly working their tails off, but imperative, no. It is imperative he put a well coached, team oriented, hard 40 minutes of competing squad out there while building the relationships needed to land the recruits we all want. He needs to walk the coaching walk rather than talking the coaches talk. He needs to SHOW recruits that SJU has stopped being a dysfunctional program first. Again, I sincerely hope I am wrong but I don’t think so.
Well said. I sincerely believe that Mike Anderson has a bit of a chip on his shoulder which is good for us. He’s done a very good job this far in his career, but just got canned from his “dream job” for not getting it done to the level they were expecting. I think he has big expectations for himself and he’s obviously willing to go out and recruit as hard as we have had a head coach recruit. It will pay dividends.

RMN enjoy your trip and hope your son has a great experience and you enjoy watching him - nothing like watching your children play sports (although none of mine were division 1 level athletes).
I am sure you will put in a word for SJU if the opportunity presents itself, lol! All the best.

Very business-like staff. Regardless of outcome at least we know they are doing what every other real major staff does: putting in max effort. The rumor mill has also gone from a consistent flow to an intermittent drip. Still don't know how I feel about the latter lol.

I'm impressed with the work done by CMA and staff thus far. I can't recall the last time our staff was so active and involved. Looking forward to next season.

I never made it the Peach Jam, as my best friend and I were supposed to go yesterday evening but he weasled out on me. For weasling out, he decided to treat me to dinner. LOL I guess it's all good.

I decided I would ask my son and take him with me for today's evening session after work, but after a week long stay at an academic camp he decided to hang with one of his good friends later today, lol. I still may take the jaunt, depending how I feel once I retire for the day.

I saw on the other thread via Mike Zaun in regards to recruiting.... I feel rather confident we're gonna bring in a solid class. I think it'll be a combination of HS kids and JUCO's (I'm referencing high-level JUCO's).

Now, have we gotten in late on 2020 HS kids? Yes, we have. But I'm sure this Anderson, Cleveland and Macon are familiar with many of these kids whilst coaching at Arkansas and St. Louis, respectively. Lavin was able to bring in a talented class after only a few months recruiting those kids. He took some chances with a few, but the one's who was eligible were still talented.

I don't think we have to mainly rely on 3-star recruits, and I don't think we will (although, I do believe we'll bring in our share of 3-star kids throughout Anderson's tenure). I have a sense, as I stated before, Anderson has re-invented himself. It not only shows by how they're smartly and strategically recruiting (as, that's supposedly a part of the job), but also the hiring of Macon and DeMeo. I feel confident the hiring of those two will pay off at some point.

EDIT: Another thing: I'm also noticing this staff's eye for talent. A handful of the kids they're targeting are "blowing up" or have already "blown up" per se'.

Hahaha. Dereliction of duty, what are we paying him for? ;) :)
I think Dinkins should be demoted to Rookie forum.
along with MJMAHER for never having a lobster roll above Boston! Sorry I see his pics and I get overwhelmed :)

I'm willing to bet my life that he'll eat a lobster roll flying in a microlight over the Zambezi River before he makes it up to a Maine lobster shack to eat one.
