Really strong outing today by Trey Patterson. Head coaches from St John’s, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, Uconn, DePaul, Pitt and Iow State were on hand for the top-50 sophomore, along with Myles Stute and Terrance Williams
DeMeo tracking these two 2020 players over weekend:
Strong outting for KD Johnson and Emmanuel Jones in session one of the NCAA Georgia Top 100 Camp. UGA, Miami, LSU, Auburn and many more schools were in attendance
His dream school, UConn, hasn’t entered the picture yet, but he hopes the Huskies reach out. He aspires to follow in the same footsteps as his idol, Walker, and suit up in the blue and white.
I hate to say it but this is by far the most comfortable I have felt with any staff since Fran was hired. And truth be told we have a better staff that Fran had assembled. The critics can come out now.

This is why I think Anderson brought in Macon and DeMeo. They're both supposedly known for their recruiting AND ability to coach. Anderson may have wanted to re-invent himself, and figured what better way to do it with a hardworking staff that gets after it on both the (recruiting) trail and on the court.
I said several weeks ago that I feel good about this staff "on paper." What gives me good vibes is this staff's track record and Anderson's overall record (65% winning percentage and not having a losing season in his time as a head coach).
It does not guarantee success but why would you ever let yourself get outworked?
To my dying day with everything he had going for him I can't understand why Chris comprised his staff the way he did and then why he put so little effort in the last few years? Just confounding.

It was absolutely maddening for most of us fans. It wasn’t just Chris. We have had a lot of staffs do this, where there was only one guy on the road and recruiting. Lavin was a really good closer, but Chiles pulled most of the weight there. This staff is built with a lot more good parts and all of em seem to be busting their asses on the recruiting trail. It’s very encouraging.
Same here - especially a guy who made himself into a great player by outworking others. I'll forever think that if he had the "right" voice in his ear that he trusted, whether that be an AD or a veteran AC, it would have been different. But it seems he deferred to Matt on all things recruiting, and adopted a NBA-type model to college kids who you need to be after every second to ensure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing and mitigate against transfer-itis which is plaguing so many teams.
