Jordan Done

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's announces Rysheed Jordan's career in Queens is over. Seeking professional career. #sjubb

Thanks
I guess it never sounded promising especially with Chris' comments, tentative, lukewarm.
Imagine what Jordan's career will be as opposed to what it could have been.
Wow done likely difference.

I wish him luck. He came to st johns when he could have gone elsewhere. It was a rough ride but he did have personal problems which were overwhelming for someone his age.

Yes and he helped our seniors have a good final year and get to the tourney with a few highlights along the way.

Wish Sheed the best in the future. I hope he makes the league one day soon.

@NYPost_Brazille: For those asking, yes #sjubb has two open scholarships now. Federico Mussini and Georgios Papagiannis are the top targets.

Landing either one of them would be great, both would be incredible. I'm confident that RJ's departure will affect him more than it will SJU basketball. He had a golden opportunity on many levels, and now it's gone.

For RJ's sake, I hope he reaches out to John Lucas or somebody along those lines. The kid has a lot of talent and I really do think he could be an NBA player. But rather than focus on his game, he needs to focus on his attitude. He's not one of those rare talents that team evaluators will just look the other way (similar to Allen Iverson). If he's going to continue to be a pain in the ass, teams won't even take a second look at him.

Apparently he turned down an opportunity to spend time with John Lucas last summer. Agree with your comments.

It may be that only a measure of reality has to be realized by RJ to help him mature.
Good luck.

Heaven forbid he be away from Philly for more than a week or two.

I wish Jordan No luck at all in the future. I hope he plays for a team in China and winds up sitting on the bench.

He can't be away from Philadelphia for more than a few days at a time, and it's only 110 miles, so I can't imagine you'll ever get to see him rot on a bench in China.

Mods, please delete "dad's" post. It's pretty shameful and embarrassing.

Why is your reaction to something you dont approve of always censorship?

I disagree with dad too. But he didn't insult another poster personalky, and he didn't use profanity. This isn't a booster club. The message boards aren't a part of the university. Let him say what he wants.

Remember this: Jordan is the oldest of 6 or 7 kids and in interviews during his recruitment, his mother made it clear that he was the defacto father figure of the family. That is a helluva lot of responsibility for a kid that age and I have no doubt that his frequent trips to Philly were in no small part related to that.

Was he a pain in the butt while here? Yes, no question. But there were mitigating factors that most of us will never have to deal with. In retrospect, going to Temple might have served him best. I hope he cracks an NBA roster one day.

Dad there was absolutely no reason for your post. As has been documented and explained on this site 1000x this kid has had a really difficult life. Your mean spirited post is an embarrassment to the school and it's fans. I wish Jordan was coming back as we would certainly be a better team with him and his departure is a loss to all parties. Truth be told more to him and his struggling family than to SJU.
To wish ill will upon him is just thoughtless and classless on your part. It also bodes very poorly for recruits reading this site.

It's simple. Despite not using "profanity" nor being directed at another "poster", it is mean-spirited and unnecessary. It's a shameful and embarrassing post. Despite what you say, this forum is associated with the University in one way or another. No one wants this kind of post to be associated with the University (or this forum for that matter, if I may be so bold to speak for it) - nor should they stand for that kind of thing. It's a joke how bad it is and should be deleted.

I wish him well also. I don't know what caused him to make the choices he seemed to have made and choose not to judge him on what I don't know.

Unfortunately, I fear that in 15 or 20 years we'll be reading about yet another athlete with great potential and what could have been. I truly hope I am wrong.

Can't you see why? Get a pair of glasses. It's simple. Despite not using "profanity" nor being directed at another "poster", it is mean-spirited and unnecessary. II hear what you're saying BK, but if the mods start removing every post that's mean-spirited and unnecessary, they would likely have to spend their every waking hour deleting posts. Besides that , you really think that anyone, let alone a recruit, gives a rat's ass that one anonymous poster on this site doesn't wish one of our ex-players luck in the future?

Agreed on all points. I know that recruits won't necessarily take into account a rogue poster's troll message. Agreed that Mods can't waste time deleting idiotic posts. I was just trying to drive a point home. I could have just have responded with "This is an idiotic post," .., but I went a different route.

I saw this in yesterday's newspaper. I was far from shocked but I just don't get it. I'm not naming any names but how many kids have to make dumb decisions to make another kid take a look and say to himself, "maybe I should just stay in school."

He's a great player, at times, but who's going to take a chance on him? Aside from the off the court stuff, what has he really proved on it? All because he doesn't want to go to class? Smh

Just to add...I've seen a bunch of posters mention that he can't stay out of Philly. I'm not going to pretend I know anything about this, but...why did he leave Philly in the first place if this was so important to him?

He said he came to SJU because he wanted to go away and still be close enough I home to care for his family. I think he needs to get away from Philly for a long period of time to prevent him from keeping that lifestyle.

Playing overseas and getting away from his bad influences might be the best thing that could happen to Sheed.

So far he hasn't shown the desire or the willpower to stay away from the bad influences. A contract overseas will hopefully be a fresh start for him as you said GMAN
