At the Mullin press conference I spoke to a couple of students who worked in the AD. Really nice students. I mentioned Jordan, and the nicer one, who came off as just really a good and a decent kid, said about Jordan, "He's a bad kid. He's not nice at all.", and repeated it a few times.
Some kids have such a difficult time adjusting to college life, partly because of their upbringing, and partially because they've had their egos fed by people telling them they will be NBA players. They arrive here with no expectation or interest in pursuing academics and want to do the bare minimum to get by and shoot straight to the NBA. Jordan's behavior here was not quite a train wreck, but close.
I try not to bash guys while they are here, but now that he's gone, I don't hesitate to call him what he is - a kid who should never have been in college to begin with - not because he was academically deficient, but because it is clear he never wanted to be here in the first place.
