Jon Scheyer

Repole can take a hike if Hurley turns us down. How many times is this guy going to interfere without making us better?

Cragg has an open job.
Would be nice of Cragg to drum up interest in Scheyer
My quote makes as much sense.
Scheyer is a white guy who played at Duke doesn't need any help.
Umm...why? Race has absolutely zero to do with anything regarding our coaching search.
OP said possibly Scheyer name is being floated out is just a way to get Scheyer name out there. Point was every crappy former white player at Duke seems to get a coaching job somewhere so he probably does not need the help. Nothing to do with ST John's other than might be the next former coach
Your comments about a crappy “white” player is ridiculous. I don’t care what color he is and if you think his 4 year stats are crappy then apparently you type without thinking or checking. I’m pretty sure we would’ve loved to have a player of his caliber.

Being 6th all time in free throws made at DUKE is indeed impressive.

It's not interfering when his assistance is needed to soften blows.
Stop trolling :woohoo:

Porter Moser and Jon Scheyer are names that have come up today in St. John's coaching search. #sjubb

Actually it’s 3rd MADE and 6th attempted. The reason why I posted it was because of some stupid crappy player comment. Pretty good 4 year stats for player who wasn’t their stud.

Perhaps coach K has recommended Jon to Cragg. Porter Moser is supposedly a very good x and o guy who learned under the great Rick Majerus. Both would cost a little over 1 mil so there would be plenty of $$ for top notch assistants.

No way Jon Scheyer should even be interviewed with no experience running a major program. I guarantee he’s never seen the problems at Duke that he’s going to encounter here. Moser I would take a chance on. Anyone who was an assistant to Majerus works for me

It seems highly unlikely Jon Scheyer will come here. If he does, it’s because he’s a basketball genius that both Coach K thinks could handle St. John’s and Cragg does and we should be excited bc then he’s prob going to be amazing with us before jumpin back to duke.

More likely, cragg is giving scheyer some pub to help him in the future.

He's the associate head coach at coach. He spent 5 years under the tutelage of the greatest coach in college basketball.
If he builds a program here pay to keep him. If he succeeds include a 4 mil buyout.

How has Woj done at Marquette?

I think we should hire the Pied Piper if we could get him to be loyal and equipped him with the Staff and resources to succeed.
Scheyer on steroids is fine.
Love Moser for his Majerus pedigree and x&o skills.
IF Cluess's buyout is too much to digest and Cragg thinks either Scheyer+ and Moser may be better options--that'd be fine as well.
I'm for whatever is in the best interests of St. John's basketball.
My mantra is to ink it by Monday because the timing is critical.

Three consecutive post season appearances. Past 4 years has won 19 games followed by 3 20+ wins per season. We've done a little worse.

Former player as figurehead and poster calling the shots as associate head coach.

As I was replying Cragg found out the poster Marco Baldi’s buyout is too high. Back to the drawing board.

I’m all for Scheyer. He’s a young guy with good pedigree who can be here for awhile and if he does really well we will have the money to pay him to keep him here. He can be our Brad Stevens. He’s going to be hungry and want to prove himself. I’m all for it. These are the type of guys who always seem to allude us.
