Jermaine Lawrence, PF (Cincinnati)

Sparta is about an hour from Springfield Gardens only if you ride there in George Jetson's car.

Truer words were never spoken. Two of my nephews went to Pope John. There is no way that it's an hour from Queens. Wait until it snows. He will be lucky to get there in 3 hours.

Sparta may be in NJ, but it seems more like the middle of Ohio with all the dairy farms.

St. John's saw 2013 Pope John XXIII (NJ) forward Jermaine Lawrence drop 21 points, 13 rebounds & 5 blocks tonight.

Thanks. Jermaine looks and plays like a Moe -clone. If so, sign him up now.

Except it's not a matter of us signing him up; it's a matter of him wanting to sign up with us.

I really want this kid are we go after him hard? Hopefully he is our next 1 and done.

We're in real good shape with Lawrence. I'm not sure who will or won't be one and done, but things are looking up for our Johnnies.

Not a big fan of leaving early but Jakkar and D'Angelo with a season we expect him to have could be gone. Think Coach keeps things like this in mind.  He knows how to manage this.

Hooper around helps Karr stay.
Id expect Harrison to test after Jr yr similar to Scotty Reynolds

Ditto. I could be wrong, but I don't particularly see Harrison leaving early.

If 2 ships are going this year does that leave just 1 for 2013 class?

I believe it'll be one or two. I'm hedging to believe it'll be one (based on your question). I can't quite remember at the moment. Nevertheless, an extra scholarship could open up after the season.

As MJ alluded to, I don't foresee everyone from 12-13 team being around in 13-14, but that means either someone will leave for the NBA or someone at the bottom will get squeezed out. Either way, good problems to have. Who would have thought 2 years ago we would have a problem with finding schollies for high level recruits?

If Karr has a Moe type impact/year, I don't care if his brother is on the team, no less Hooper, he is gone for greener pastures.

It seem Lawrence is continuing his solid play this spring.... There is a possibility he could end up being the sole focus of the staff for the 2013 class.

No player looks the part of a pro like Jermaine Lawrence. Just oozes potential, has all the attributes of a high major player. Big time.

Jermaine Lawrence is lighting it up from 3 again today. Really trying to fit into that Kris Joseph mold, working game out toward perimeter.

Per Zags.... If Lawrence keeps up at this pace during the spring and summer, then he's gonna end up being a top 10-15 player when it's said and done.

Along with Kansas, Rutgers and Cincinnati, Hasson said both St. John’s and Syracuse are working hard for Lawrence.

“St. John’s, they’ve been coming pretty hard,” Hasson said. “Rutgers for sure. Syracuse was going pretty hard.”

We will see. I wouldnt expect similar results. He won't be playing as many minutes and more weapons
