Jenkins & Dingle or Posh & Addae-Wusu

We should probably start talking about Jenkins-Alleyne as the backcourt, not Jenkins-Dingle. Alleyne is much better all around thank Dingle at this point, and the offense is much better with him on the floor.

Other than Marquette, Nova and UCONN, I’m hard pressed to name another Big East team that is clearly better at point guard position. You can argue McKnight with Xavier or Posh with Butler but I don’t think it’s a winning argument.
Other than the sentimental vote , I think we have eliminated Posh from the discussion vs Jenkins . And , I’m not sure I would call Bamba a PG . And , this was his best game of the year .
Kolek is at the top of the pyramid but , we will see when he goes 1 on 1 with Jenkins .
McKnight ? I don’t see him as better than Jenkins .
Richmond on SH should be in that mix too. but again is he a PG ? Not sure you would define him as such .

Again when I mentioned Nova I was thinking of Justin Moore who is injured right now but preseason first team all Big East.

B+ post. The only reason why it isn’t an A is because you failed to include paragraphs.
Kranmars , see even the most experienced of posters try to slip a No paragraph Epistle pass the Screeners .

Stay Vigilant .

I agree. I think the ship has sailed on Dingle being a starter and volume scorer. He and Jenkins just don’t mesh and Jenkins is more valuable with defense and rebounding than Dingle.

If Dunlap is going to play with confidence, he probably offers more than Dingle. He’s a better rebounder, easier to hide on defense, and really helps spacing. Bring Dingle in for instant offense off the bench.

Alleyne is a kid I would have loved to have held onto for when we had a pure PG. His defense is so good and he’s such a smart player. He makes 1-2 passes every game that are just incredibly high IQ plays. He’s such a winner. He literally makes everyone around him better on defense which is so rare for a non-center. He’s going to be a monster coach one day.

To squeeze the most out of his ability, maybe play through Soriano and overload a side with him and Dunlap. Get the kid some good inside-out looks. I notice he will force a shot once in a while when he’s doesn’t get a pass for a long stretch. The kid is shooting 37.2% this year from 3 and never gets set up.

Let’s see the end result but Dingle over Posh easily. The only area where Posh may have had an edge was defensive intensity. Posh as a PG was horrible. Couldn’t shoot, weak handle, lost the ball when pressure was applied and was not a leader at all

Thus far, Dingle has been the biggest disappointment. His on the ball defense is poor, he tends to force things too often on offense, and his handle isn't great. Probably best in limited minutes - as a zone-buster or to give a quick rest to Jenkins/Alleyne or Taylor if we go small.

Of all the incoming transfers, Dingle has sacrificed the most and is having a hard time adjusting. Being a prolific scorer he knew his numbers would decrease under Pitino’s system. However he is still averaging 10.7 ppg. Not the game changer but still makes an impact and is instrumental for our success. Jordan still leads this team in 3-pointers made. His contribution to this team should not be overlooked. We are lucky to have him.

Yup and I trust him at the foul line in end of game situations; that 71% will be up close to 80% by end of year.

I sort of feel for him because he appears to be a guy who needs a lot of shots to get his rhythm and heat up. Wouldn't be shocked if he scores 12 points in two or three mins but difficult to happen on this team. He can IMO be an efficient 17-18 ppg scorer at this level. Prob not here tho.

Totally agree and if he could average 1-2 more FGs per game pushing his points per game to 13-15 we will be in great shape.
