Girls were given to the athletes for sex
I fail to see the problem with this. . .
And you need to stop taking being a crazy sports fan and mistaking it for being a real nut job in real life. There is life and then there are sports. You are allowed to get crazy about sports. Ever watch the NFL draft? Are they nut jobs too or just crazed fans? You have to separate sports and one's normal life then you will see the difference. There is no hole in my wall over this...it was just an insane roller coaster ride so why were you expecting a calm board during it? Your expectations based on the situations are strange.
I would love to see you go to a Duke game and call the Cameron Crazies "nut jobs". I am just an SJU equivalent. Why do you guys try to make it so formal on here? It's a forum about college basketball. This is supposed to be an escape from life, not serious business. That's why I think we have different views. I put stuff out there assuming others won't take it too seriously or harp on it. I'll admit I post with emotion much more than others, but that's also how 99% of forums are online especially sports ones with big fans.
You want to bring up logic? Ok. Whitehead's recruitment was an absolute crazy roller coaster ride. Thus, reactions to it will be similar. If recruiting is consistent and calm, the reaction generally will be calm as well. That's logic. Being pissed when another team got sneaky and dirty on us after thinking we had him is 100% normal. I'm over it though because it turned out to be even shadier than I thought and we should stay away from that. If your expectation is for every poster to be 100% even-keeled and non-reactionary then you clearly are new to forums. And I'm really not trying to get the last word in, but I'm done with this talk. All I'm saying is I'm worried our offense won't improve enough. I think that's a valid worry based on how awful we were last year. No excuses this year (even though I know some of you have endless excuses why we can't have our expectations too high) i.e. youth, injury, Lavin had cancer a few yrs ago, and whatever this year's theme is.
So I'm not allowed to question our offense because the season didn't start yet. Apparently the season not starting yet somehow alleviates that. If you aren't worried about our offense you weren't watching last year. We couldn't shoot FT's we could not buy a 3 with Bill Gates money, and we depended on running the shot clock down to 5 seconds, chucking and praying. We were among the worst offenses in major college hoops.
You guys talk about the future all the time with no qualms, but when your favorite poster asks, it all of a sudden becomes "Oh my god! There he goes again! What a douchebag!". How about just giving a normal response for a change? For Christ's sake, if you can't reply without insulting then don't reply at all. My point is very much relevant. Our offense is essentially what is getting us #6 and #7 rankings in some previews. We are like the Jets...plenty of defense but zero offense.
Though I would have liked IW to commit to SJU, I have no problem with what SHU did to land him. It is legal and they (SHU) need to get better. IW should make them a lot better. I think it bodes well for SJU and the Big East for teams like SHU to improve. Other coaches (some highly respected) from around the country have hired people in order to land recruits. I am glad SJU was not in the position of having to do what SHU did-since from all I have heard/read, Tiny is not the kind of person I would want on the SJU staff-my apologies to Tiny if his rep has been besmirched unfairly.
I am high on this years team, and if it attains what many here think it can, we will have no trouble landing top classes in the future. Players want to be on a team with a good chance to Dance and then some-when we demonstrate we are in that class, the rest will take care of itself.
That's my guess. Or just match what Seton Hall was offering because if they were offering that from the beginning then why not just take the offer immediately instead of dragging us back in it this late in the gameIt was a meeting in the family apartment of high school hoops star Isaiah Whitehead in the initial days of the summer recruiting period, where Kevin Willard decided to push everything to the center of the table. Whitehead, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from famed Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, was one of the top unsigned players in the 2014 class and Seton Hall needed a star at the top of its list.
Seton Hall pitched its family atmosphere, its improving facilities and the Big East Conference's new national television deal. It was making an impact, but it didn't feel like enough. Willard then pulled an ace.
He offered one of the vacancies on his staff to Whitehead's high school coach, Dwayne "Tiny" Morton to show just how serious he was. According to two people familiar with the contents of that meeting who asked remain anonymous because they don't speak on the interests of Whitehead, Morton or Seton Hall — that was a major selling point. Whitehead's mother, Ericka Rambert had heard all she needed to.

If that's all true, then why all the histrionics yesterday? Doesn't seem necessary... I'm still scratching my head about yesterday.
Tried to see if SJU would up the ante for Tiny.
Yeah, that makes sense -
Having read all the orhestrations that have transpired, between IW/Mom/Morton and SH, I wonder how we were lured back in or whether we re-engaged...and whether we intentionally or unitentionally were used...
Some aspects don't make sense..why ask SJ to jump back in if you weren't serious? Did he just realize that he wasn't going to be "the face" of the program? If the idea of a job for Morton was floated in early summer, why waste time with us?
Only thing I can think of is Morton's job preference was SJ and he used the kid to see if he could get SJ to offer a job. He probably reached out to SHU because he knew they were desperate and would be open to offering him an opportunity.
I know he has had success at Lincoln but not sure what he will add to SHU beyond IW (and that might only be for a year).
I personally don't think it was decided in the summer.
And there's no question Lavin was intentionally used.
So now I'm a troll and compared to an animal that someone wants killed. Here's the thing: I move on and talk SJ hoops, and hours later we still have other posters who have it out for me not allowing me to live anything down and throwing more jabs in there. All you do is continue the cycle. Really beginning to wonder if it's even worth it to try and stick around because I have what seems like hundreds of people who would love nothing more than to see me banned and maybe 1 person who sees through the BS and realizes I have good intentions. You guys really are some of the mostt you call "moving on" is frankly, n ruthless people I've ever encountered even if it's online save for 1 or 2 of you. I mean that with 100% honesty. Now go ahead and whine about how I don't let things go even though I'm the one who moved on and others brought it back to attacking me.
As far as IW, lets not call the kettle black. There are already rumors Lavin tried to get Tiny a different job. And if our staff had any wiggle room at all, I don't think it's out of the question we would've brought him on to the staff. We play the games just like everyone else. We just couldn't guarantee the playing time and focal point status that the Hall could.
After a night of processing, I am at the place where I can wish Whitehead good luck in college.
But I can also say that Seton Hall has becone Rutgers to me. I want SJU to kick the living snot out of them each and every time.
